You've probably noticed that the

You've probably noticed that the comments links are no longer there.

Right off the bat, I want to say that this had nothing to do with traffic, bandwidth, or coding problems. It had to do with a small group of people who refused to listen to reason, and continually would get into Shipper arguments. Even after I had asked repeatedly that they drop the subject. Which is the original reason why I chose comments over an actual messageboard, because I had hoped that the comments would stay on topic. Also, if I decided that it wasn't working, it was just a matter of deleting a line of code rather than redesigning the site.

Which I have now done.

The point is, this site exists to provide serious, unbiased, analysis of spoilers and speculation. There are plenty of other Buffy sites on the internet that lean towards one ship or another, or focus on fan fiction, or even a specific actor or actress. My job is to go through all the rumors, spoilers, and news out there, and try to present a balanced picture of what might likely happen. I've stated many times in the past that I don't mind constructive criticism, I even welcome it. But I want you to back up that criticism with facts, not with opinions. Some people unfortunately cannot seem to do that. I'd much rather spend my time addressing the topics at hand, then constantly fighting a battle that you can never win with the Shippers. I want this site to stand out from all the others and not features all they shipping, flamewars, and other arguments that constantly seem to crop up. But it's come to the point that I've gotten really tired of it.

Which is not to say that I am permanently doing away with ways for you to interact with this site. However, I want something that I have much more control over. Aside from the small segment that can't seem to let go, I actually enjoy reading the comments that the majority of you make. There is a lot of careful thought and consideration going on in those comments, and I hate to discourage those people. So I'm working on several ideas for an alternate comment-based system, but with a bit more control on my end. Hopefully sometime in the next week or so, I can find a solution that will fill the hole.

And, as always, I'm available via email if you have thoughts you want to share with me on this topic.
