(Author's Note: PLEASE READ! This story is the second of three possible pieces. I'm writing three chapters of each and I'll continue the one that receives the highest number of positive reviews. You get to choose what you want to read. All three stories have several things in common, all are set in Season One and all deal with slightly altered versions of Spike's origins. The idea behind this story has been done once before. I really can't remember what it was called, I think it was on Fanfic.net but this story won't resemble it in the slightest. In that story, Spike was also driven insane, not Drusilla. In this story, Spike has been with Angel since his ensoulment, his treatment in the hands of Angelus has created a split personality complicated further by his own actions.)

Buffy was thrilled Angel had come when she asked him to. She was surprised that he brought someone with him, however.

Angel had approached Buffy a total of four times since she had moved to Sunnydale and he already was having a starring role in her daydreams.

Angel gave everyone a wincing smile, “Just a minute.”

He stood deliberately in front of the smaller man that was with him, but the guy kept trying to see past him. Buffy strained forward to do the same and noticed Willow, Xander, and Giles doing so as well.

Angel led him over to one of the cushy chairs towards the back of the room and sat him down. Buffy got a good look at him finally. His hair was a riot of messy bleached blonde curls. He wore a pair of dark wash jeans and black high-tops with a flame design across them. A bright red t-shirt with a massive Rolling Stones logo completed the ensemble. He was… hot. Great, Angel had a little friend to co-star in her fantasies.

Angel was kneeling in front of the guy now, he took several things out of his coat and laid them down, “I brought comic books, your Gameboy, your Discman and CDs, and about a pound of junk food. Now all you have to do is sit here and not say a word for two hours. Two hours, Will, now that's not hard, is it?”

The guy now known as 'Will' shook his head, “But I want to-“ Oh, so he had a hot British accent, too. Not fair. That was dirty pool.

“Sshh! Listen, Will, you don't want to go near those people…” The rest was said in whisper and Buffy watched Will's eyes get wider and wider. He looked at them fearfully and shrunk back against the chair.

“What's Angel saying about us?” Willow looked offended.

Angel came over finally, “Don't mind him, I couldn't leave him at home today. He won't bother you. Now, what's this new information about the Master?”

As Giles filled Angel in, Buffy watched 'Will' curiously. He steadfastly ignored them and chose a Garbage CD from the case. He opened a Johnny the Homicidal Maniac comic and started reading.

“I don't have that one. Hey, do you think he'd let me borrow it?” Xander asked, ignoring the conversation between Giles and Angel as much as she was.

Xander slid down from his seat on the table and walked over, Buffy and Willow watched this with interest.

“So you like Slave Labor Graphics? I've only got the first one in that series. Do you think I could read them after your done?” Xander asked with an open, friendly smile.

'Will' matched the smile by giving him one of his own. Buffy felt her heart flutter in her chest.

“Sure! I have all the Squee ones, too. And do you like Lenore? I have the first three. They're pretty new, you might not have them.” Will started digging through the black backpack on the floor. It was covering in patches and pins and held a skateboard on the back.

“Will! No! What did I just tell you?” Angel was next to them in a heartbeat yanking Xander back and pulling a stake out of the boys back pocket.

He showed it to Will, “You see? What did I tell you? Stay away from them.”

Will stared at the stake and sat back in the chair, his comic book fell to the floor.

“I wasn't going to USE it, Dead Boy! And he's a vampire, too? Shouldn't you be more worried about ME?” Xander was irate, still being held in Angel's firm grip.

Buffy put a hand on each of their chest and shoved them apart, forcing Angel to let go, “Stop it, both of you! Angel who is he?”

“He's- he's-“ It was the first time she'd ever seen Angel stutter.

“I'm Will!” the vampire on the chair announced.

“Thank you, sweetie, we got that part.” Willow said to him quietly.

“You're a vampire?” Buffy asked him directly, ignoring Angel for the moment.

Will nodded, keeping a careful distance. Buffy felt unaccountably like a large, hairy spider someone had to keep an eye on.

“He doesn't feed, Buffy. He's like me. He has a soul.” Angel finally managed to get out.

Giles dropped his book, “What? This isn't possible. There is absolutely nothing in the records-“

“No, no one really knows about it because he wasn't cursed. He went out and got it for me. So I wouldn't be alone.”

Everyone was staring at Will now. He started to shift uncomfortably, “Angel, can we go home. I don't want to miss South Park.”

Buffy walked over to him and he started and shrunk back looking at Angel frantically over her shoulder.

Buffy turned around, “What did you tell him about me?”

Will answered for her, “He said you were a monster that hunted vampires down and staked them when they were sleeping. He said if I said anything you'd set me on fire and put it out with holy water.”

“You told him I was a monster!” Buffy wailed.

“Well, to him you are.” Angel said quietly, looking at the ground.

“Doesn't he know about Slayers?” Giles asked, noticing Will had no reaction to the word.

“Sort of.” Angel said, “There's really something you should know about Will-“

A loud crash interrupted him as a small army of vampires invaded the library.

Angel dashed past Buffy and gripped Will's shoulders, “Will, I need to talk to Spike now, O.K. Can Spike come out?”

Will's face went slack for a few seconds, then his eyes opened and a chill went down Buffy's spine. It was like an entirely different person had just taken over. A wicked smile curved at his lips, alien on the open, friendly face she had seen previously.

“Having a party are we? Thanks for the invite mate.” The new incarnation slipped past Angel smoothly and picked up the stake Xander had dropped. He twirled it with an inhuman flexing of his wrists and sent it sailing into the chest of the first approaching vampire.
