Okay, I must admit that my interest in this episode wandered at first. I groaned a bit as I figured that it was the usual monster of the week episode and I watched Angel go through his, “I’m in so much pain and can’t make a difference in the world speech.” However, I quickly became intrigued as Lindsey’s participation in the episode grew. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next in what I have termed, “the seduction of Lindsey.” He is a such a cutie.

I really enjoyed watching Lindsey struggle to find his destiny. On one hand, he was trying to do the right thing, but the allure of the power and wealthy was overwhelming. His boss was the embodiment of evil. His seduction of Lindsey was wonderful. He never threatened him, but in fact played into Lindsey’s weaknesses, his ambition. He knew that Lindsey would be an important asset to the firm and he was willing to accept Lindsey’s betrayal to keep him. In many ways reminded me of their relationship reminded me of the Mayor’s relationship with Faith; that weird evil love that the mentor has for the mentee. It was a great touch that, in the end, Lindsey chose to stay with the firm. This totally broke the mold of the usual “bad guy gone straight” story-line. Life is like that, sometimes you just chose easy path, you make a mistake that you pay for the rest of your life.

Obviously, the scroll that Angel stole from the firm will play an important role in the season finale. Wesley’s point that Angel’s life has purpose because it appeared in the scroll was a bit cliché, but I guess Angel need the reassurance. I was happy that the leader of homeless appeared on in the episode (can't remember his name). I wish that he had a bigger part and hope we see him next season. It would good to see an actor of color as a regular on the show. On any extremely shallow note (because I can't help it), David was dreamy in that zipped up clingy shirt that he wore and then the suit. I was totally drooling.

The overnight ratings were 5.0/8 (4.7/7) .
