Buffy The Vampire Slayer > BTVS - Season Three
A Chance Encounter by Spikes Princess Dru
[Reviews - 3]

I don't own the BtVS characters. Joss Whedon and Mutant Enemy does. Thanks for your interest, and please enjoy. Feedback of both kinds is welcomed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Willow was walking home one late October night. She knew how dangerous it was to walk alone, especially in Sunnydale; but she was armed to the teeth with stakes, holy water, and a cellular phone. The latter of which, had the number of the Sunnydale High School library on speed dial.

Willow was halfway to her house, when she heard a dry crunching noise behind her. Not being one to fall into cliches, she bolted. After running for several blocks and not hearing a thing behind her, she stopped. Her side splitting, she turned around. There was an empty street behind her. She sighed and start home again.

"'Ello ducks. 'Ows my pretty little witch doing?"

Willow stepped back and pulled out her cross. "What are you doing back Spike?"

"Well luv, I realized something while searching for Dru in Brazil," He said, gingerly taking a cigarette out of his pocket and lighting it. "I realized that once I found 'er, things wouldn't be the same. I'm not apt to torturing 'er, thats not my bag, that was Angelus'"

"Oh so you let her go?" Willow thought that keeping Spike busy talking, would give her at least some chance of getting away.

"Well I actually didn't find 'er. I heard about 'er and that chaos demon bloke running off to Africa. Anyways, I'm 'ere, she's not. I'm in the mood for a spot of fun!" He leered at her and lurched toward her.

She flinched and thrust the cross at his face, "Stay back!"

"Aw, pet! Why do you want to 'urt me? I've been nothing but nice to you, you know?!" he said with a hurt expression.

"Nice?! Where in the Hell did you get that from? You've been nice to me? Ha!" she said pushing him down on the pavement.

"Oh ducks, I knew you had some spark to ya! Can't be a red head without it," he fixed his legs under him and turned serious, "'ave I killed you?"

"No, but you've tried on many occasions. The only thing stopping you was Buffy or Angel."

"Yeah, but I could've and you know it. 'ave I tried to get up your skirt?"

"Yes! I seem to recall you saying something along the lines of 'I haven't had a woman in weeks.'"

"I was drunk. I was off my chump."

"You don't say!"

"I'm sorry. I.....I don't know what to do without 'er! I loved her so much....." he started to cry. He noticed the disgusted look on her face and tried to hide his tears.

"Get up!" she yelled at him.

"What?"

"Get off your ass and stop crying about that Ho! That was all she was, you know. If she wasn't plastered onto Angelus, then she's somewhere making out with a chaos demon or something!"

"My Dru was a princess. She...she loved me when I took care of 'er and dressed 'er up in pretty dresses!" He was now angry. The tears where gone.

"Yeah? If she loved you so much, then why does she attach herself to everyone and anyone she can?"

"She's...she's...Hell! Bloody hell! You're right, red. My Dru...Drusilla's a big ho. I don't need 'er to be my dark princess. I don't need anyone!" He puffed his chest out proudly, "I'm a man. I don't need 'er. To bloody Hell with 'er!"

"Good for you Spike!"

"Will you be my dark princess? I've always loved women with red hair. So much fire and..."

"I can't Spike. I've got a boyfriend, you know Oz?"

"Oh you mean that dog chap? He's not man enough for you, Red. But ....I understand. You would've made a deadly princess." He smiled at her.

"Well, um...thanks..I guess."

*Beep Beep Beep*

She looked at Spike, "My cell phone."

He stepped back and kicked a pebble down the street.

"...Yeah Buffy. Oh I'm home. Just watching T.V. Yeah. Sure, I'll come. What did Giles do to the computer? Yeah I can fix it. I'll be there in a few. Seeya."

"So you 'ave to go?"

"Yeah, Giles needs me. I'm the computer girl." She smiled at him. He flashed a radiant smile back.

"Thank you."

"For what, pet?"

"For not trying to kill me."

"Oh, no problem. I'll try again you know...the offer." He stated shyly.

She walked over and kissed him on the cheek. He looked genuinely surprised.

"Bye Spike." She said and started off. Soon she was just a tiny black speck and then nothing.

"Good bye Willow."
