Summary:
Having left Sunnydale and the love of his life behind, Angel starts a new life in Los Angeles. Here he meets half demon Doyle who receives visions of people in trouble from The Powers That Be and unlikely as it my seem, finds comfort in the friendly face of Sunnydale It Girl, Cordelia Chase. Having lost her inheritance due to her father forgetting to pay those pesky tax bills she has come to LA to seek fame and fortune as an actress. While waiting for her inevitable stardom she teams up with Angel and Doyle and together they form Angel Investigations.

Doyle's latest vision sends Angel Investigations on the trail of a demon serial killer who picks his victims at a local singles bar. Angel's investigation brings him in contact with Detective Kate Lockley and makes him her prime suspect for the murders.

When Oz arrives in Los Angeles with the Gem of Amarra (a ring that will render the wearer unkillable if he's a vampire), as a gift from Buffy, Angel is dubious about using it. But Oz is not the only visitor from Sunnydale, having lost his shiny toy to Buffy, Spike has followed Oz to LA and wants his trinket back.

After a particularly hard interview, Kate enrols on a sensitivity training course. The training involves the handing round of a magic 'talking stick' which turns everyone that comes in contact with into an emotional wreck. When Angel gets hold of the stick much hilarity (and tears) ensue.

Second of a two part crossover with sister show, Buffy The Vampire Slayer. After learning that Angel has been to Sunnydale to help her and not even said 'hi', Buffy makes him a return visit. They are interupted by a demon who they track and Angel kills. But when the blood of the demon is mixed with his, Angel's he becomes human again and spends a memorable day with Buffy.

When a group of half demons are hunted by the Scourge (a group of pure demons with a hatred of half demons), Doyle's past comes back to haunt him and, after a parting kiss with Cordelia he performs a heroic act in order to save the lives of many and achieve his own redemption.

When Cordelia receives a vision in the middle of her audition she realises that there was more to Doyle's kiss then goodbye. She soon finds that her seer's eyes are a lucrative commodity on the black market when she is kidnapped by Angel's latest client. While Angel has flashbacks of the argument he had with his father which led to him being out that fateful night in 1753 when Darla found him drunk in a tavern, he discovers that Kate's father is involved in demon drug traffiking.

When a walk in client tells Angel he believes his brother has been kidnapped and Angel starts tracking him down, little does he know he is walking right into a trap. Angel soon finds himself held captive and forced to fight for his life at a demon fight club.

Returning from a night at the theatre Cordelia, Angel and Wesley spot a well known talent agent with his daytime soap star Rebecca Lowell. When Angel saves Rebecca from an oncoming car she hires him as her bodyguard. Angel finds himself telling her what he really is, and, seeing becoming a vampire as a way of gaining eternal youth and saving her waning career, Rebecca drugs Angel making him experience a moment of perfect happiness.

Summary:
Third in a four part crossover with Buffy The Vampire Slayer. After losing her battle with Buffy in Sunnydale, Faith heads for LA. Hearing that there is a rogue vampire slayer in town who is also wanted for murder, Wolfram & Hart think this the perfect opportunity to take out Angel. Faith is on board and after a couple of close encounters finally entices Angel into a fight by capturing and torturing Wesley. But Angel, thinking back to how he himself was saved when his soul was first restored to him, believes that he can save Faith.

Summary:
Seeking Sanctuary in Angel's basement apartment, Faith struggles to do the right thing while every conceivable agency is after her. Buffy is over from Sunnydale and seeking vengeance, Wolfram & Hart are not happy that she has joined forces with the mark instead of killing him, Kate has learned where she is hiding and wants her for the murder charge and even the Watcher's Council have sent a team to try and get to her through Wesley.

Summary:
On the trail of a millionaire's blackmailer, Angel not only goes to a demon brothel but runs into Charles Gunn, leader of a crew of homeless people that also fight vampires. When Gunn's sister gets captured and turned by a vampire gang, Angel steps in to avoid the inevitable blood bath and earns an unwilling ally in Gunn.

Summary:
When Lindsey hears of a plan by Wolfram & Hart to assassinate a group of young children he has a pang of conscience and turns to the good side to stop the massacre. With the help of Angel he breaks into the Wolfram & Hart vaults and steals the information neccesary to help them save the day. While in the vaults, Angel is attracted to an ancient scroll and manages to include this in their haul.

Summary:
While Wesley tries to decipher the scroll which appears to be an ancient prophecy about the vampire with a soul, Wolfram & Hart conjure a demon who disables Angel's friends, severs his link to the powers that be and raises something in box.
