Prophecies and rituals play an important role in the lives of both slayers and the demons that they hunt. As well as having prophetic dreams, slayers are often the subject of prophecies, or have to try and stop them coming about. Vampire and demons love those rituals that bring destruction to the world about them, forever seeking to return our world to the one they once knew before humankind evolved. Here are some of the prophecies, rituals and spells we have come across. This is an ongoing project and will grow over time.
The Harvest
The Harvest
"And like a plague of boils, the race of Man covered the Earth. But on the third day of the newest light will come the Harvest when the blood of men will flow as wine, when the Master will walk among them once more, the world will belong to the Old Ones and Hell itself will come to town."

"For they will gather and be gathered. All that is theirs shall be his. From the Vessel Pours life. On the night of the crescent moon, the first past the solstice, it will come."

Once a century, The Harvest comes. On that night a Master vampire can draw power from one of his minions, known as the Vessel, whenever it feeds. The Vessel is bound to the Master and bears this symbol. In order to become the Vessel, the vampire must first drink from it's Master, then the following words must be said whilst the Master draws the symbol on the Vessel in his own blood:

Master: My blood is your blood. My soul is my soul
Vessel: My body is your instrument.
Master: On this most hallowed night, we are as one.

In Sunnydale, 1996, The Master, trapped in an abandoned church, assigns Luke as his Vessel. Luke goes to the Bronze where he begins to feed, embuing The Master with the strenth to break free from his mystical prison. Unfortunately, Buffy kills Luke before he can give The Master sufficient strenth to break free. The Vessel dead, The Master loses all the strength that he had gained.
