(Melissa?s office. The cake on table has Happy Birthday Benji written on it.)

MELISSA: I said Penny. I was very clear on the phone! I spelled it with letters. It?s okay. I?ll fix it. Here (hands guy next to her the candles) you do these.

(Melissa wipes bottom bulge off B with her finger)

GUY: Ah-hah! perfect.

MELISSA: Ok, light them.

GUY: I?m lighting, I?m lighting!

MELISSA: Great

GUY: Um, what about the ?J??

PENNY: (walks in) What?s going on?

GUY and MELISSA: Happy Birthday!

PENNY: Oh, this is so sweet! (Looks at writing) You?ve only been here a month and already you know four of the letters of my name.

MELISSA: It?s just?

GUY: (half laughing): Yeah!

MELISSA: Um, we thought that you should be Penji from now on. We think it suits you better!

GUY: Make a wish already!

PENNY: Okay, wait (blows out the candles).

GUY: Yeah!

MELISSA: (hands potted plant to Penny) And I brought this for you. I painted the pot myself so feel free to break it by accident.

PENNY: (smiling) Oh, don?t be silly. Thanks!

(A black guy comes in with a bouquet of white flowers.)

MELISSA: Oh, check it out! Looks like my little philodendron just got upstaged.

PENNY: Oh, no way. I don?t know anybody with taste that good!

BLACK GUY: Right you are. They're for Melissa.

PENNY and GUY: Ooooh.

MELISSA: Who are they from?

BLACK GUY: I don?t know. Delivery guy from Ned?s Flowers.

(Melissa looks at card. Looks spooked.)

BLACK GUY: Something wrong?

MELISSA: No. (Walks away from others.)

GUY: No one ever sends me flowers.

MELISSA: (gets bottle of pills from purse, hides it in hands, says to Penny): Would you watch my phone?

PENNY: Oh, sure, honey.

(Cut to Melissa walks into bathroom. Stares at herself in mirror, then takes some pills with water)
