(Just as she reaches it, it opens, revealing her father standing there.)

FATHER: Hello, rabbit.

BETHANY: Daddy.

FATHER: God, Bethany, I've been so worried. I wouldn't have known where to find you except ... You're friend Lilah and I only wanna help you, sweetheart.

(Plaster rains from the ceiling and a nail flies to pierce Cordelia's arm. She winces, but doesn't scream and shortly pulls it out.)

FATHER: I know what you can do, Bethany. And I know you don't mean to hurt anyone. You're a good girl. I know that. No more worries, all right? You're coming back with me, we're gonna be a family again. Wouldn't you like that? To stop running all the time? To come back where people know you, love you? I promise it'll be just like it was before. I've missed you so much. Shh, rabbit.

(Bethany's eyes roll back in her head and everything goes quiet.)

ANGEL: (gets up) Bethany ...

(He gets pinned against the wall, silenced.)

FATHER: There you go. (Reaches a hand to her) Now why don't we go downstairs? Just you and me.

(Bethany's face hardens and her father slides back from her. Angel comes free from the wall. Her father starts to float up off the floor.)

FATHER: Bethany, what are you doing? Stop it. Put me down. (He reaches for his throat) I can't -- breathe. (To Angel) Help me. Please. Stop her.

ANGEL: Bethany. You've got the power. Use it. Finish it.

FATHER: It hurts! Make it stop.

BETHANY: Good-bye.

(The father flies out of the window with a scream, plummets, slows, and stops to hang a few feet above the sidewalk, then finally drops safely the rest of the way. Bethany blinks, shakes herself and looks from Angel to Cordelia.)
