(Ethan's room. Demon-Giles and Buffy fight. Ethan tries to escape, but Riley stops him)

Ethan: (watching) You're only going to make him angry.

(Buffy & Giles continue to fight. Ethan tries to escape again and Riley stops him again, this time with feeling. Meanwhile, Buffy has managed to put herself on top of Giles and is about to stab him through the heart with a silver letter opener)

BUFFY: *This* is for Giles!

GILES: For me?

(Giles words come out in demon as usual, so Buffy proceeds to stake him with the letter-opener. A split second later, recognition hits her.)

BUFFY: (shocked) Oh, God! Giles!

(Buffy pulls out the letter opener.)

GILES: (from Buffy's POV: trying to say something in Fyarl)

BUFFY: (pleading) Oh, God! Giles! Giles! I'm so--I'm so sorry! Please don't die!

GILES: Actually, I feel quite well. Except for the rage.

(Buffy sees that Giles doesn't seem to be dying and is relieved.)

BUFFY: I think he's okay. I--(frowning at letter opener) is this thing real silver?
