(Library. Pete is tossing Oz around.)

Pete: Did you kiss that whore? Huh? Did she like it?

(He flings Oz again. But the sun has finally set.)

OZ: Time's up. Rules change.

(He turns into a werewolf, and the fight is on. Outside in the hall, the gang hears it.)

GILES: What was that?

(They charge into the library.)

GILES: Get the dart gun!

BUFFY: Got it!

(Debbie shoves her as she aims at the struggling Pete & Oz)

Debbie: Pete, watch out!

(The gun goes off, and the dart hits Giles in the hip.)

GILES: Ow!

BUFFY: Oh! Sorry!

GILES: Oh, right. Bloody priceless.

(He slumps over. Oz-wolf runs out the door. Buffy tosses the rifle to Faith.)

BUFFY: You get the wolf!

FAITH: Got it!

(She and Willow run out the door. Buffy takes on Pete. He manages to pin her under shelves and runs out. Buffy frees herself and pursues him. Meanwhile, Debbie has snuck away to their secret place. Eventually, Pete ends up there. She flings herself at him.)

Debbie: Pete! You're all right! God, you're all right. She almost shot you. Did you see? I stopped her. You have to leave, get out of Sunnydale. She knows.

Pete: How did she know, Debbie? Did you run your big mouth?

Debbie: (firghtened) No! She just knew. It seemed like she just knew.

Pete: So you filled in the blanks!

(he throws her to the ground)

Debbie: (screams) NO! No!

Pete: But what did I expect from a screw-up like you?

Debbie: I-I didn't... Pete...

Pete: You're nothing but a waste of space.

Debbie: No!

(he reaches for her and we cut away to Buffy still tracking him. She finally arrives, but it's too late, Debbie is lying dead on the floor.)

BUFFY: Oh, God.

(She reaches down to Debbie. Pete jumps her.)
