Amy's witchy mother is desparate to recapture her glory days as a cheerleader.Plot Highlights:
Giles protests Buffy's cheerleading. Xander gives Buffy a good-luck bracelet. Cheerleader Amber spontaneously combusts. Distracted Joyce fails to connect with Buffy. Amy (with cheerleader alum mother) does badly in tryouts. Buffy & Amy are alternates. Joyce hurts Buffy's feelings. Xander nerves himself to ask Buffy out, but she puts him off. Cordelia goes blind, wrecks the drivers ed car. Xander & Willow help Buffy perform a Witch-test on Amy. Buffy sings "Macho man", gets out of control at cheerleader practice. Giles takes sick Buffy to Amy's house, confronts 'Catherine'. Giles breaks Catherine's spell, Buffy deflects her own curse at her. Joyce resigns herself to not understanding Buffy. Buffy & Amy don't notice the darting eyes in Catherine Madison's trophy.
