<Episode 57: Waiting in the Wings (Angel, the Series)>

Angel takes the gang to the Ballet.

Plot Highlights:

Wes day dreams about Fred. Angel brandishes ballet tickets. Fred & Cordy dress shop, Lorne confronts Angel about his Cordy leanings. Fred laughs at Gunn in his tux. The gang settles into cheap seats. Angel recognizes the dancers, he and Cordy go to investigate. They get past a security guard, and are possessed by the spirits of old lovers. Wes, Gunn & Fred come looking for them. Both groups are attacked by smiling-faced demons, they kill them and regroup in time to be attacked some more. Angel goes off, meets the Prima Ballerina and destroys the Evil Count's power source, breaking the spell. Wes witnesses Gunn & Fred's first kiss. Angel starts to explain his feelings to Cordy, but the return of the Groosalug interrupts him.

Quick Review:

I usually don't do non-crossover Angel episodes, but this one had just way too much good dialogue to pass up. I laughed, I cried (well okay, I didn't cry, but I did say "Poor Wes!" an awful lot) and then I typed like the wind to get it up on my site...

Memorable Moments:

• Gunn protesting the Ballet scheme, Angel trying to convince him
• Gunn & Fred's interactions (him being impressed with her ability to shovel food, her laughing at him in a tux, their sweet little first-kiss scene)
• Angel & Cordy vs the security guard
• Angel & Cordy being possessed, Angel's reluctance to go back in, Cordy's being insulted
• Lorne's justifiably bitter little lullaby
• All the ballet scenes, the Prima Ballerina's sob story scene
