Notes:
Angel and Lorne race to prevent a world-freezing time disruption; Cordy, Wes & Gunn start their own agency.

Plot Highlights:

Cordelia, Gunn, and Wesley move into their new office, lacking in electricity and phone service. Lorne tells Angel the world is going to end and he needs Angel's help. Gene, the physicist who is trying to stop time sang at Caritas. He can't quite figure out his equations, and he finds out his girlfriend is going to break up with him. Lorne and Angel search for him, while some chaos-loving Lubber demons secretly fix Gene's equations in order to get the world to end. Gene decides to freeze himself and his girlfriend while they are making love. Angel and Lorne get there before the Lubber demons mess up the time field equipment, saving the day. Meanwhile, Virginia brings a client to Cordelia, Gunn, and Wesley. Gunn kills the demon, but Wesley plays Hercule Poirot, solving the underlying case, and Cordelia eats all the h'ors d'oeuvres.

Memorable Moments:

  • Trying to fix the lights and phone, Wesley causes a blackout.
  • Lorne sings the Star Spangled Banner, annoying Angel
  • Lorne complains that his new bartender can't make a seabreeze correctly
  • The physicists refer to themselves as "Star Trek nerds"
  • Virginia saves Cordelia, Gunn, and Wesley from their waves of depression
  • Virginia also notices the funky smell of the new office
  • Lorne masquerades as a "school mascot"
  • Gene's girlfriend realizes she must give him a sympathy bone before breaking up with him, and her overhears her say so.
  • Lorne, learning to drive, can't get past second gear
  • Angel declares his intention to kill Darla, but despairs of ever fully accomplishing his mission of redemption.
  • Wesley fancies himself a modern day detective, pontificating about the clues and their case, running through means and motive.
  • Cordelia eats all the h'ors d'oeuvres at the clients' house, and asks for more.
  • Cordelia, Wesley, and Gunn finally stop fretting about still calling themselves "Angel Investigations" without Angel. After all, it's just a name.
