NOTES ON EPISODE ART: CREATED 12/2001 ~ Ah, that's better, back to one subject. It's amazing how much easier that makes it! Of course there was other stuff going on in this ep, and I might have to make a separate Giles/Buffy one for it one of these days, but I think Willow's complete lack of comprehension of anything Tara said to her made her the core of this episode and hence the star of the collage. And after the letter-boxing from last ep, it was nice to get a lot of really nice clear close-ups...I'm especially happy with how the Tara corner turned out. If you look very carefully, you can see that there's actually 2 images there, the main one and then a profile facing the edge of the image.

Notes:

Despite her promise to Tara not to use any magic for a week, Willow casts a spell which backfires and causes the entire Scooby gang to forget who they are.
Plot Highlights:

Buffy warns Spike there will be no more kissage, then saves him from the loan shark. Willow,Tara,Anya & Xander discuss Buffy's revelation. Tara gives Willow an ultimatum. Giles tells Buffy he's leaving. Willow casts the tabula rasa spell. Mid emotional scene, the scoobies conk out. Waking, they don't know themselves or each other. Loan Shark's men attack, Buffy/Joan drives them off. Buffy and Spike/Randy run out, Willow,Xander,Tara & Dawn head for the sewers, Giles & Anya make bunnies. Buffy/Joan realizes Spike/Randy is a vamp. Giles & Anya have a lovers spat, make up. Xander dusts a vamp, accidently crushes Willow's crystal, breaking the spell. Realization all around. Depressing night at the Bronze (Tara packing, Giles on a plane, Buffy ignoring, then kissing Spike)
Memorable Moments:

Buffy telling Spike she will never, ever touch him again just before tackling him to the ground to save him from a flying stake. Her line about how if she would stop saving him, things would be so much simpler...
Willow accusing herself of selfishness for bringing Buffy back, but failing to really grasp any of Tara's points when she gets lectured.
Giles trying to explain his reasons for leaving to Buffy, who doesn't want to hear it.
All the Giles/Spike father/son stuff: welcome to the Nancy tribe, ruggedly handsome resemblance, older brother? Randy Giles? mid-life crisis transit, do we hug?
Buffy & Dawn realizing that they must be sisters since they annoy each other so much.
Watching the usually together Scoobies scream and run around in terror at the sight of some pretty minor vampires.
Anya's attempts at spell casting producing bunnies and more bunnies. Her reactions. Little fluffers! Cotton-top pit of hell! Hipity-hop all over my vulnerable flesh!
Spike's hilarious "mission of redemption", "help-the-helpless" spiel and Buffy's response: "a vampire with a soul? how lame is that?"
Volumes being spoken without words as everyone figures out what Willow did when the spell is broken. More dialogue-less volumes as the Bronze song follows the sad scoobies around.
