Quick Review:
Okay, so I have very mixed feelings about the over-the-top Buffy crying jags (mostly cringing and kinda nauseated, but a little laughing too) but other than that, this was a pretty solidly amusing episode, and much more light-hearted than one would have guessed coming right after the big Riley-Leaves-Angst-Fest. We of course have Anya and Olaf the troll (thanks to Abraham Benrubi's dead funny delivery) to thank for that, and as long as you don't take this ep too seriously a lot of fun can be had watching & rewatching.
Memorable Moments:
- Anya's big bomb clock dramatazation
- Giles suddenly getting very nervous about the idea of leaving the store in Willow & Anya's hands
- Buffy talking to an sightful Dawn about her breakup with Riley.
- Spike getting carried away while practicing his apology to Buffy with his mannequin.
- Olaf the Troll's night on the town, including the revelation that he used to date Anya. Puny receptacle! Can it be babies?
- Olaf forcing Xander to chose either Anya or Willow, his refusal to do so & Anya's offering herself in Xander's place.
- Anya distracting Olaf with insults. Your roar is less than full-throated!
