Giles' Ripper past is revealed when the demon Eyghon comes to Sunnydale.

Plot Highlights:

Giles abuses Buffy's work-out music; outside the school, his old friend Philip is killed. A round of Anywhere But Here. Jenny makes Giles squirm. Detective vists Giles about Philip. Blood Delivery Day at the hospital. Giles tells a worried Buffy that nothing's wrong. Saturday morning computer tutorial with Jenny. Buffy finds Ethan snooping about the library. Possessed Philip attacks; during the fight Eyghon switches to Jenny. Giles tells Buffy to mind her own business, but she & the scoobies research anyway. Jenny/Eyghon attacks Giles, Buffy saves him, he tells her the Ripper story. Ethan ambushes Buffy, tries to substitute her life for his. Angel's inner demon kills Eyghon. Jenny gives Giles the cold shoulder.

Memorable Moments:

• everyone's being so calmly sure that Giles has been Tweed-Man since the day he was born, and then their individual reactions to meeting Ripper.
• Cordy & Xander being about to duke it out until Willow laid down the law in no uncertain terms.
• Buffy bonding with Giles over finding out that they have more in common than she'd realized.
