Written by: Dean Batali & Rob Des Hotel

Notes:
An organ-harvesting demon haunts the school Talent Show.

Plot Highlights:

Buffy, Xander & Willow mock Gile's appointment as talent show director; Snyder makes them participate. Sid the dummy mocks Morgan, comes on to Buffy & Willow. Dancer Emily dies. Scooby interviews point to Morgan. Joyce asks about the talent show. Xander snags Sid. Sid's story is revealed. Buffy saves Giles from Marc's guillotine. Buffy, Xander & Willow perform Oedipus in the talent show.

Memorable Moments:

  • Buffy admonishing Giles that it is his destiny to run the annual talentless show, only to have Snyder rope her & the others into participation. The dismay that follows.
  • New Furer Snyder's riff on "woolly-headed liberal thinking" that "leads to getting eaten".
  • Giles getting rid of Cordelia by implying that something's wrong with her hair, on a tip from Xander.
  • The priceless toga-party rendition of "Oedipus" at the end, especially Willow running from the stage and Xander & Buffy stepping closer to gether to fill the gap she's just vacated.

NOTES ON EPISODE ART: CREATED 05/2003 ~This episode was such a balance of funny and creepy that it was hard to know which way to go in the collage... so I tried for a bit of compromise, with the coloring reminiscent of the bright lights and sparklyness of the stage...
