Angel investigates a possession.

Plot Highlights:

Cordy & Wes squabble. Cordy wants Angel to talk about Doyle's death. Angel saves a sleepwalking kid (Ryan). Angel brings spiked brownies to his 'thank you' dinner. Containment circle for Ryan while Angel & Wes go looking for a priest. Mom breaks the circle. Cordelia researches, tracks down a box to contain the excorcised demon. Ryan taunts Wes as he tries to perform the excorcism. Wes fails, Angel finishes the job. Angel & Wes track the corporeal version of the demon, get its side of the story. Ryan tries to burn his house down and kill his family.

Memorable Moments:

  • Wes, reluctant to eat Cordelia's homemade brownies, horrified at the damage they may do to his ancient knife when she wants to use it to cut them.
  • Wes, crumbling under Ryan's taunts about his various failures and insecurities.
  • The corporeal Ethros demon, revealing the twist to the story, as Ryan glares menacingly at his sister, who got 2 extra marshmellows in her hot cocoa, and therefor deserves to die.

NOTES ON EPISODE ART: CREATED 09/2003 ~I really liked the shot of Wesley with the book and the cross, so that was my focal/inspiration shot. Couldn't leave Angel out, though, as he was more the focus of the episode, so found a suitable exorcism-shot for him too. Filled in some texture around the edges with stained glass from gettyone.com. For texture, I used custom brushes from insomniac brushes. Flames are from gettyone.com. Caps are from buffycaps.be and from sounds-of-silence.
