SC2: The Slayage Conference on the Whedonverses

The registration fee for SC2 will be $125 until April 1, and will cover the conference, four breakfasts (Friday-Monday), three lunches (Friday-Sunday), and the Thursday night reception. (Registration paid after April 1 will be $150.)  Friday night banquet tickets may be purchased for $25.

Keynote speakers will include Roz Kaveney, editor of Reading the Vampire Slayer, Michael Adams (North Carolina State University), author of Slayer Slang: A Buffy the Vampire Slayer Lexicon, Nancy Holder, Buffyverse author, and Stacey Abbott (Reading Angel: The TV Spin-off with a Soul). Featured speakers will include Lynne Edwards, Lorna Jowett, Gerry Bloustien, and David Lavery.

 

 A scholarly conference dedicated to the imaginative universes of Joss Whedon--the Jossverses or Whedonverses--will be held at Gordon College in Barnesville, Georgia, Memorial Day Weekend, 2006. Papers on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly (both the television series and the forthcoming movie), Whedon's other screenwriting / script doctoring (Toy Story, Speed, Alien Resurrection, Goner), and his comic book contributions (Fray, Astonishing X-Men) will be sought.
