Glenn Martin Christopher Francis Quinn was born May 28th, 1970, and was
raised in Cabinteely, Co Dublin. He moved to the United States at the age
of 19, and prior to his role as Doyle on the hit Buffy The Vampire Slayer
spin-off Angel, was best known to American audiences as Becky Conner's
not-too-bright husband Mark on the long running sitcom Roseanne and as
Cedric Grey on short-lived historical fantasy series Covington Cross.
Quinn attended Clonkeen College in Ireland, and tries to get back as often
as possible. Although he spent years doing an American accent on Roseanne,
he was pleased that producers made Doyle Irish when he was cast. In an
interview with The Irish Times, Quinn said of his accent "I've been
hiding it for so long that it's amazing to have some freedom. It was like
putting on an old pair of shoes-it's bringing my soul back to life."
In addition to acting, Quinn plays the drums and guitar, and is part owner
with Mark Leddy of Goldfingers, a Los Angeles nightclub with a 007 motif.
Glenn passed away on December 3rd 2002 aged only 32.
Allan Francis Doyle
Doyle, as he was most commonly known, was half demon half human.
His demon side was bracken demon. His demon side only came out when he
turned 21, by which time he had married someone. But he didn't know he
was half demon, his mother hadn't told him. And when the demon side came
out him and his wife split. Doyle didn't want to believe what he was so
he shied away from the world. Suddenly one day he got his first vision
from the Powers that Be after getting a visit from a fellow bracken
demon asking for help and he turned them down. He followed his vision
which led to him seeing these half demons killed by something that was
called The Scourge. His next vision sent him to Angel, to act as his
guide. The Scourge soon returned to LA to get rid of the half breeds.
Doyle sacrificed his own life to save the half demons that him, Angel
and Cordy were protecting. Before Doyle jumped to his death he passed on
his visions to Cordelia through a passionate kiss and then left this
world.
