Julie Benz
Born May 1st 1975 in Pennsylvania, Julie Benz's father is a Pittsburgh surgeon, her mother an ice skater. The family settled in nearby
Murrsyville, PA when Julie was two, and she stared ice stakting at age three. She competed in the 1988 U.S. Championships in junior ice dancing with her partner David Schilling, coming in 13th. Her older brother and sister, Jeffrey and Jennifer, were the 1987 U.S. Junior Champions in ice dancing and competed internationally. When Julie was 14, she had a bad stress fracture and had to take time off. Her ice skating career over, Julie turned to acting and got involved in the local theater where she got a role as an extra in the movie Street Law. Her first speaking movie part was a small role in the Black Cat episode in the Dario
Argento/George Romero co-direction horror flick, Due occhi diabolici (1990) playing alongside 'Harvey
Kietel' . A year later she got a role on a TV show called
Hi Honey, I'm Home (1991). After graduating from high school, Julie entered New York University to study acting there. After graduation, Julie moved to Los Angeles to further pursue her career and landed some small roles in movies and TV including a guest appearance on
Married... with Children (1987) and in the Aaron Spelling TV pilot "Cross Town Traffic".
In early 1997, Julie auditioned for the role of Buffy in the series
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but lost out to Sarah Michelle Gellar. However, she was offered a small role as a vampire girl in which she did such a good job that her part was expanded to a few more episodes in playing the vamp Darla. With that, Julie Benz's career had finally taken off. She also had a small, but memorable, role playing a receptionist in the movie As Good As It Gets.
Julie has lost two roles to Sarah Michelle Gellar in the past, one as
Kendall Hart on All My Children and the other being Buffy Summers
on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Also Julie was once ranked the number 12
ice skater in the USA. Auditioned for a role in Eyes Wide Shut (1999). She was called back to audition for the role again, but decided against it when she was going to have to do the scene topless.
She is currently married to John Kassir, the two got married in 1998. |

Darla
Before Darla was a vampire she was known to be a working girl
many hundreds of years ago. And in this line of work she contracted syphilis
and was going to die from this disease but the most powerful vampire
known, The Master, saved her by turning her into a vampire. The Master
and her were together for a very long time before Darla wanted a
playmate of her own. She turned her own, a man called Liam into Angelus.
The both of them traveled across Europe leaving a trail of death and
carnage. When Angel's soul was returned to him Darla was stuck with
Drusilla and Spike but soon they also left her to be together on her own
and she returned to The Master. Together they went to Sunnydale in Los
Angeles to once again open the hellmouth and restore The Master to his
former glory. His plans were thwarted along with Darla running into
Angel again. While trying to coax him back to the dark side Angel
decided enough was enough and killed Darla.
Darla was given a new life when LA law firm, Wolfram & Hart brought
her back to get to Angel. Unfortunately it didn't work but while she was
back Angel used Darla, one night, a night of passion Angel and Darla
slept together. From this Angel had an epiphany and told Darla to leave
and never come back. A few months down the line Darla returned, a little
different to normal, she was pregnant. The pregnancy was in a bit
of trouble and Darla had to sacrifice her own life to save her child. |
