Angel arrives in Los Angeles, fighting evil. He meets Doyle, a half breed Brachen Demon who says he's his messenger from the Powers that Be. Angel is on the verge of seeking human blood, but with Doyle's help things may get turned around. Angel meets Cordelia at a party. The person who Angel's trying to protect gets murdered by Russell, a vampire. Russell then proceeds to go after Cordelia. Angel manages to save Cordelia, with Doyle's help, and Russell learns to fly.

Doyle gets a vision of a cheesy night club, but no names or details. Angel and his gang go to investigate. They end up breaking up a bar fight which Doyle started. But something is killing the patrons of the club and it's not pretty. It turns out to be a demon which jumps from body to body to find the perfect match. A detective, Kate, is onto Angel, thinking he's the killer. Together they find out who or what the killer is and kill it, but Kate doesn't know the truth behind the killer o Angel.

This cross over from the BtVS episode "Harsh Light Of Day" Oz goes to LA to find Angel and give him the Gem of Amarra which makes any vampire totally invincible. Spike follows Oz's lead and heads to LA looking for Angel and the ring. Spike gets Angel but the ring is yet to be found, Cordelia and Doyle find it. They got to find Spike and attempt to give him the ring in exchange for Angel. Things go wrong for Spike, the ring is missing, so is Marcus and Angel's in bad shape. Angel and the gang, along with Oz's van find Marcus on the beach, after a fight Marcus is stripped of the ring, and life. Angel sees life beyond night and his first sunset in 200 years. Angel decides not to keep the ring, and he destroys it.

Doyle gets a vision about a woman needing help (surprise surprise!). At first she is reluctant but she goes to Angel Investigations. While Doyle keeps an eye on her Angel goes to Kate for some information and to the source of Melissa's fear, Ronald Meltzer. Ronald studied psychic surgery where he can take parts of his body off for some time. This deranged mind stalks Melissa. Ronlad starts to lose it. He goes after Melissa at angel Investigations Headquarters after thinking that he's killed Angel. Doyle and Cordelia get knocked out one after the other, Ronald goes after Melissa, but Angel arrives and Ronald's head rolls to the ground. 

While Cordelia is searching for the perfect place to live, Doyle has problems of his own, mainly debts. Angels helps him with his problem and Doyle helps Cordelia find the perfect place. But it's not so perfect. It's haunted. Not only that but past female residents have committed suicide in that some place. With some investigating they find out it's not suicides but murders, by a ghost killer seeking the truth about her son Dennis. The ghost makes Cordelia mentally weaker. But after the word "bitch" Cordelia's back to her normal self and revealed what actually happened to Dennis. Dennis and Cordelia then live together in the perfect place.

Detective Lockley is looking for a killer, she finds him, but the killer (Little Tony) has Wolfram & Hart on his side. With their help Little Tony manages to get away with a light punishment. But Kate's violent  tendencies with Little Tony caused a sensitivity training class to be brought up. Kate attends and suddenly all cops who have been to that class are more sensitive. Angel investigates and finds out there's a talking stick. This stick makes anybody who touches it have non-violent tendencies. Angel has an encounter with the talking stick, but with Cordelia's and Doyle's help Little Tony is put behind bars.

Cordelia's feelings for Doyle are growing, but Doyle's wife sweeps in. But she's asking for a divorce as she's soon to be married again, to another demon again. Doyle finds this hard to take at first but the realises it has to be. He signs the divorce papers and is invited to Richard's bachelor party, and brings Angel with him, and gives his blessing. But this blessing is more than Doyle thinks, it's his own brain. Angel in vampiric form gets the party really going, while Cordelia and Harry head over to the party after it's accidentally slipped what's going to happen to Doyle. Harry then decides not to marry Richard, but stays in LA.

Another cross over from BtVs from the episode "Pangs" Buffy goes to LA mainly to see her father but also to ask why Angel went to Sunnydale and didn't let her see him. But in their confrontation a Mohra demon comes in and attacks them both. Angel and Buffy manage to fight it off, but it runs and they go after it. After Angel has a fight with it and he thinks he's killed it, it's blood mixes with his and he's human. The good news is broken to Buffy. But the Mohra demon was not killed. It regenerated itself and is bigger. Angel goes after it, but as a human he's useless. Cordelia's slips to Buffy where Angel was and goes to kill the demon. She does so, but Angel finds out that there are more coming and the Slayer's life hangs in the balance. He decides to turn back time with the Oracles help and Angel kills the demon before any blood mixed, and only he has the memory of that day.

Angel spills what happened that day to Doyle and Cordelia. With all the truths coming out Doyle decides it's time for Cordelia to know about his demon half, but he gets a vision about other fellow half breeds in danger from the Scourge. Doyle knows about them and fears them. His relatives were killed by the Scourge. The Scourge have a device which kills all half breeds within a 6 mile radius. An attempt has been put to use it on the half breeds, an unlikely hero comes in to play, Doyle. Cordelia finds out that Doyle's half demon. Doyle sacrifices his own life to save that of the other half breeds and Angel, and Cordelia. Before he died, he kissed Cordelia and something was passed on.

It seems that the passionate kiss between Doyle and Cordelia passed something more on, it passed on Doyle's link to the Powers that Be. A demon, Barney, goes to Angel seeking help, someone is after him. That someone who is after him turns out to be Wesley, a rogue demon hunter. After being fired from the Watcher's Council he decided to carry on fighting the forces of darkness. Angel and Wesley team up to find what they thought was after Barney. Barney turns out to be a demon auctioneer who gets demons powers, and cuts them off the holder to sell in an auction, and Cordelia's next. A lawyer from Wolfram & Hart buy Cordelia, but Angel and Wesley come in to save her, while the lawyer leaves unscathed.

A series of rather horrific murders has been going on on the streets of LA. Worrying thing is that Angel dreams them. Angel sees himself as a suspect, but it turns out to be a vampire that he sired in his bad vamp days. His name is Penn, Angel taught him everything, how to kill, everything. He's here in LA, and the detective on the case is Kate. During a fight Kate finds out that there are more sinister things in LA than your average murderers, and one of them is the vampire called Angel. Kate isn't comfortable with Angel's true self and finds out who made Penn. Kate and Penn are about to fight when Angel comes in, he and Penn fight. Both are caught in a lock down, Kate grabs a big piece of wood and rams it into Angel, straight through to stake Penn. However Kate is still not comfortable with their being another darker world.

After a night out with an extremely rich and handsome man, Cordelia ends up pregnant with demon children, 9 of them. Wilson Christopher and his friends impregnate women and in return they get riches and fame. As the pregnancy got further on Cordelia became closer to her babies and the demon father. All other ladies are lured to the demon father's lair, and the demon isn't your average sized demon. Wesley and Angel devise a plan to kill this demon. they do, and the pregnant mothers lose their babies, and Cordelia puts the finishing touches to destroying the demon.

Something burned a human being totally, Angel, Cordelia and Wesley go to investigate. Angel finds out that it is not only one person but many of them, and they are all female. They all come from a parallel universe where women are only wanted for one thing by the male of the species. So the king sent his daughter to try and help these women escape to Earth, LA. Unfortunately some people get killed when they come to Earth in a blinding heat. Angel sets out to find this woman, Jhiera. Then finds out that the women escaping are trying to escape being used by the male of the species. Angel helps Jhiera to protect the women and they succeed.

After a vision from Cordelia Wesley and Angel find themselves at Ryan Anderson's house. Ryan was about to cross the road and in the process get knocked down by a car, Angel rushes in and saves him. Ryan's mother, Paige, is overwhelmed, but happy and invites Angel in to tend to his wound. Angel feels something is wrong in the Anderson home. Wesley looks around the outside of the home and finds the excrement of and Ethros demon. It has possessed one of the members of the house. Angel gets invited over for a second time for dinner, he brings brownies, with something in them which would bring out the demon, so they know who the possessed is. Ryan is possessed and Angel and Wesley got to exorcise him. Seeing as Angel can't hold a cross Wesley has a stab at it, but he's the one who gets stabbed. Angel then tries his hand at exorcism, while Cordelia has a box ready to catch the demon, the demon gets exorcised but not into the box. Angel and Wesley go after the demon, meanwhile Ryan is busy setting fire to his family and home. Ryan had no soul, and the demon was the one calling for help. 

Kate still doesn't favour the idea of their being demons, vampires and other creatures of darkness, when one attacks a train in LA. Angel fights it off and ultimately kills it. Kate's father is at the scene it seconds, but Angel is suspicious why he was there. Kate's father turns out to be dealing in some criminal activity, which gets him some more money. The criminal activity turns out to be with a head demon. But things turn sour and he is killed by who he was working for, vampires, but he didn't know. Kate goes for vengeance. Angel gives her a hand.

Jack goes to Angel Investigations seeking help, saying his brother has got kidnapped. Angel's hunt finds him in the sewers where he is confronted by two Howler demons, who he pummels until some information is given. Unknown to Angel is that he was being watched and given the thumbs up. Angel is lead to a place where demons are brought in to fight against each other, after 21 fights they are set free. The kidnapping was a jinx and the brothers are in it together and Angel is captured for use in the fights. Angel refuses to fight, but the other demons have been there too long to know that fighting's the only way out. Angel fights and wins his first match. Meanwhile Cordelia and Wesley have made a key to help him escape. Just as Angel is on his last ounce of strength the other demons, one of whom stole the key from Wesley, storm in and Jack is disintegrated. And a bunch of demons are let lose on the streets of LA.

After an exhausting viewing at Cordelia's theatrical debuts, Angel saves the life of a Hollywood star, Rebecca Lowell. The next day she asks for his services, but he declines, Angel likes this girl. But that night after a fabulous party at Rebecca Lowell's the killer strikes again, but Angel was watching outside and scares the killer away. Rebecca also learns that Angel is a vampire, and she didn't react like Kate Lockley, she was some what calmer. Angel stayed the night to protect her. The next day at a premiere the killer was there, Angel was the bodyguard and the killer was subdued. On further inspection Angle found out that the killer fired blanks. Rebecca admires the way that Angel stays youthful forever. She wants to stay that way and she'll do anything to Angel to do that. She gives Angel a drug which makes him temporarily Angelus. All Angelus wants to do is kill Rebecca, but with Cordelia's superb acting skills and Wesley brute force Angel's tied up.

Faith breezes into town after her reeling experience in Sunnydale with switching bodies with Buffy. Her loud and not exactly hidden personality soon shows itself with the lawyers with Wolfram & Hart. they hire her to kill Angel, without a doubt Faith takes the challenge. With this proposition she gets money, place to stay and safety. Faith kidnaps Wesley and begins the torturing, Angel finds her with Cordelia's help. And the fighting begins, but Faith's actions have a different purpose. Faith wants to end her own life so she doesn't have to go on living like she is.

Faith under the protection of Angel, enters Angel Investigations. Here she rests. Wesley and Cordelia still question Angel's choice of approach, and so Cordelia makes a speedy exit. Buffy goes to see Angel only to find Faith being held by Angel. Buffy doesn't understand, Angel tells Faith to leave and Buffy and Angel have a bit of a punch up. Wesley has been approached by the Watcher's council Elite. In return for being allowed back on the Watchers' Council he has to help the capture of Faith. Wesley turns on the council to help Faith. While Angel is taken in by Kate for Faith's murders, Buffy and Angel see Faith in the police station giving in. Angel and Buffy have an argument at the end of the episode which leads to Buffy walking off after something Angel said. Angel wants to go after her, and Faith's trying to find some peace.

David Nabbit was photographed in a Brothel house, which was meant to be private. He calls on Angel Investigations for help. While sorting David's problems out Angel encounters a group kids, living on the streets and killing vampires, and themselves getting killed one by one. He tries to convince them that he's good and he can help them, but they decline. The kids get taken by surprise by the vampires, and Alonna gets taken and turned into a vampire. Gunn goes after her, and kills her. 

On Angel's rounds Angel finds a woman with an incredible fighting ability, but she's blind, and has killed someone, and another surprise is that she was hired by Wolfram & Hart. While in the court room, when Vanessa is in there, she manages to catch a pair of glasses which Angel throws from behind her, and the court room is astonished. Lindsey learns her next assignment is to kill innocent children, and he doesn't like the sound of that so he turns to Angel. With Angel's and Gunn's help he gets more information by breaking into the Wolfram & Hart vault about the children, where they are etc. But Angel also picks up a scroll, which Wesley later translates, and mentions Angel.

Wesley is working hard on deciphering the scroll which Angel picked up on his way out of Wolfram & Hart. Wesley finds out it is about Angel's death. Angel has no major reaction to this, and this worries Cordelia and Wesley. While this is going on Wolfram & Hart are conjuring up Vocah, who is needed, to conjure something else up. While Cordelia is out trying to give Angel some more human attributes Vocah is there and gives her the ability to see everyone in danger, this gives her the feeling of a psychotic fit. Vocah is a very busy demon, he also goes to Angel Investigations steals the scroll, and plants something which explodes in Wesley's face, while Angel was outside. Angel runs in to save him. He goes to the Oracles to find out what is happening, but they are dead, the ghost of one tells him about Vocah, so he heads to Wolfram & Hart. Wolfram & Hart are at some kind of ritual which Angel crashes. Vocah and Angel fight it out while Lindsey takes the scroll and reads it. Once the deed has been done the lawyers move out and Vocah gets killed. Angel then turns on Lindsey, who's hand gets severed. Later we see Lilah talking to the thing inside the box which turns out to be Darla...
