Star Relieved At Angel's End
David Boreanaz, star of The WB's Angel, told CNN Headline News that he's relieved that the show is finally coming to an end after five seasons, and that there would have to be a good reason for him to put Angel's black trenchcoat back on for the reported Angel TV movies-of-the-week under consideration for next year. "There's been talk about films, board games—let me see—video games," Boreanaz told the news network. "Everything, across the board. These characters that [executive producer] Joss [Whedon] has created will live forever."

Angel Series Loses Its Wings
After five seasons and 110 episodes, “Angel” has lost its wings. In February the WB network decided to cancel the supernatural drama, in which David Boreanaz portrays Angel, a vampire with a soul. Joining him is an assorted group of friends and allies who fight the forces of darkness in Los Angeles. Created by Joss Whedon, the show was spun off from the popular series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

Farewell, It's Been Fun
For years, television viewers have been gripped by the lives of six aimless but good-looking New Yorkers, a Seattle sophisticate who can't find a happy romance and a repentant 250-year-old vampire. This month, the curtain falls on all of them.

Christian Kane told About.com that Mutant Enemy is talking about doing an ANGEL film but, Kane says, "I’m not sure that’s [a good thing]." However, Kane added, "If David [Boreanaz] said that he would do it and Joss [Whedon] asked me to do it, then I would definitely do it hands-down, no matter where I was at in my life. But I don’t see it. I’m pissed off....because we came back in and then the ratings go up and it’s like something like DARK SHADOWS or something."

Viewers Pull Out All the Stops to Save Shows
There's also outrage that "Angel" (157) is headed for the hereafter on WB. Fans of these vampire shows feel as if they're being jerked around. First "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" bit the dust and now "Angel." These sorts of shows have been hemorrhaging viewers for the past few seasons. "Angel" was down to its last 3.8 million souls, not enough to breathe new life into another season.

Roll Your Eyes
Newsarama is reporting that because she posed for PLAYBOY, Charisma Carpenter likely won't get the role of Wonder Woman in the long-planned film, even though she's the only known halfway-decent actress who comes close to looking like the character.

Christian Kane on the End of Angel
Even if Christian Kane didn't have a movie coming up starring Queen Latifah, I'd still be interested in talking to him about his work. I'm a huge fan of Joss Whedon's "Angel" (it's one of the few programs I TIVO) and with the series rapidly drawing to a close, who better to ask about the show's cancellation than "Angel" co-star Christian Kane. Here's what the actor/musician had to say about saying farewell to "Angel," working on "Taxi," and his music career.

TV Goes Out with a Bang
With ratings down for its established hits (“Gilmore Girls,” we hardly knew ye) and no new buzz shows to speak of (despite the network’s best promotional efforts, “One Tree Hill” hasn’t broken out), the biggest event on the WB’s May sweeps schedule is the end of “Angel.” This “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” spin-off ends its five-year run on May 19.

Bell Talks Buffy & Angel
Jeffrey Bell, who co-wrote and directed the finale of The WB's vampire series Angel, told SCI FI Wire that scheduling conflicts and story concerns were the main reasons why Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar won't appear in Angel's final episodes. Angel co-creator Joss Whedon had asked Gellar to appear while Gellar was busy. But when Gellar was available for the final episode, producers opted not to include her, because they didn't want the show's finale to be about Buffy, said Bell, the series co-executive producer.

There's Some Good News for Angel Fans
What is it with television execs these days? Folks are going to be scared to like a show for fear that it’ll be axed a couple of weeks later? Granted, “Angel”, has been going for five seasons, but it’s still one of the best written and most entertaining shows on Television. And then there’s ‘Wonderfalls’, one of the most acclaimed shows of the season, and it didn’t even last a handful of episodes. And what I don’t get is UPN not picking up ‘Angel’, but then going ahead and greenlighting a new sitcom to reunite Corey Haim and Corey Feldman!?. So as you watch your favourite TV show this weekend – be it ‘Gilmore Girls’, ‘Smallville’, even ‘Access Hollywood’ – try not to let anyone know that you’re enjoying it too much. Someone who has the power to end that fleeting feeling of elation might just feel the need to do so.
