Buffy & The Battle Against Evil
Because I'm working on a book, have a dog with a gravity-bending sense of entitlement and a 16-month-old daughter who rejects the "false choices" of the modern post-industrial economy, I don't get to do as much reporting - or anything else - as I would like these days. Usually, I don't mind because fresh air is overrated. But I'm really bummed I missed an "academic conference" in Nashville last week, particularly because I never got to say my goodbyes to Buffy. |

BtVS DVD News - Not Good
If you've been planning to get the Buffy DVD's, plan to get them soon. I've recently got word from a reliable source who have confirmed the reason on why Buffy DVD's are currently so cheap now. Reason is that retailers are trying to sell the current stock. Plans are that by October all of the DVD's will be sold, completely. So, sadly folks, if you want to get your hands on the whole set you'll have to get your skates on. Head over to Sendit.com where they currently have all the Buffy DVD' s for only £29.99 with free delivery. |

The slayer returns in a cartoon series. We don't know when. We don't know how many episodes - but it looks like a Buffy Animated Series is happening.

Scholars Lecturing on Buffy - Seriously
It's tough for scholars to be taken seriously when their subject is a TV show about a California blonde fighting evil in a high school built on a gateway to hell. Particularly when the title is as campy as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
Slayage
AICN says that BUFFY: THE ANIMATED SERIES is still in the works and will soon be shopped to various channels for pick up. The show will feature the voices of Alyson Hannigan, Anthony Stewart Head and Nicolas Brendon and will be about Buffy's sophomore year at Sunnydale High.

20th Fox TV has hired Jane Espenson (BUFFY TVS) to co-executive produce the next season of TRU CALLING and develop new projects for them. Espenson was recommended by longtime 20th alum and former boss, Joss Whedon.
