Angel News |
Signing Off One of the most heartbreaking losses of this season was the WB's abrupt cancellation of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spinoff, Angel. Completely original, frequently gothic in scope, Angel was one of the best-written shows on television. The show was enjoying its fifth year when the WB announced, in a rather cryptic memo, that it was ending the show despite calling Buffy and Angel "cornerstones of our network" and admitting: "The sum total of the work done on those shows has produced some of the proudest moments in our history." Despite rabid campaigns organized by fans of the show, Angel aired its final episode May 19. |

Joss's X-Men News |
Buffy Creator Returns X-Men to Their Roots Whedon has the right résumé. He created and spent the last seven years guiding "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and its spin-off, "Angel," and I wouldn't be the first to note the similarities between "Buffy" and "X-Men." How many "X-Men" fans recalled the "Dark Phoenix" saga when nice girl Willow turned evil and all-powerful? All of them. In a way, "Buffy" was Whedon's warm-up for "X-Men." |

Sarah M. Gellar News |
Remakes Of Asian Horror Films Look To Scare Up Big Bucks Millions of Americans went to see "The Ring" in 2002, and out of those millions, few probably knew they were watching a remake of a Japanese hit. (Mention of SMG and The Grudge.)
Pics: Grudge You can now get a good look at two of the world's greatest hotties in scenes from their respective female driven features. The first is a shot of Sarah Michelle Gellar in the first promotional photo from Takashi Shimizu's remake of his own film, THE GRUDGE. Alexa Davalos News |
From Angel to Riddick I was first smitten by Alexa Davalos on Angel, kicking butt, electro-shocking the villains and getting the jungle fever with Gunn. So when I heard she was cast in The Chronicles of Riddick, it seemed like a logical follow-up. More butt kicking and tough girl antics. |
