Serenity News |
Three Times the Serenity About.com spoke to Alan Tudyk about sequels for the upcoming SERENITY: "It is a three-picture deal at Universal and I think it’s going to be about how the first one performs to see how the other two do. But the way that it’s been budgeted, I have a lot of faith that it’s going to do well business-wise, on a bottom line sort of scale. I think it’s going to do enough, it’ll be hard not to do what it’s supposed to do. If something cataclysmic would happen, and such a good script too on top of it all, I’m certain there’s going to be three." |

WB Wants Angel Movie Garth Ancier, chairman of The WB network, confirmed to SCI FI Wire that the network has approached Angel creator Joss Whedon about doing a telefilm version of the canceled television series, about a vampire with a soul. "[We] have an offer on the table to Joss to do movies," Ancier said during the network's fall press preview in Los Angeles. "When Joss and David Boreanaz are both interested in doing it at the same time, I'm sure we will be doing Angel movies. Certainly Joss would like to. David will take a bit more coaxing, but I think he will do it." |

Alan Tudyk News |
Alan Tudyk's the I in I, Robot Less skin and bones, more techno-organic plastics. But the process isn't that different. Following in the virtual footsteps of Andy Serkis, a.k.a. Gollum in "The Lord of the Rings," Alan Tudyk plays a computer-generated character in "I, Robot." But Tudyk's role is a good bit more prominent: In fact, he portrays the title character. |

Alan Tudyk Interview |
Alan Talks Serenity I usually get a few comments from actors about their upcoming comments, but it’s rare that you get basically a full interview while somebody’s promoting another film. To be fair, I will present Alan Tudyk’s interview for I, Robot later this week. But for now, here’s all he had to say about Serenity, the feature length film based on the short-lived TV series Firefly. Tudyk played the ship’s pilot, Wash Warren. On TV, the ship explored different worlds as a sort of space western, without aliens. Joss Whedon makes his feature film directing debut with the film, named after the ship. |

A Letter from Jewel |
Ramblings from Jewel Hello to the faithfuls: Just an update, since you've asked. Or maybe you haven't actually asked, but I'm giving you one anyway. Just completed another week on the "BDM" at our home-away-from-home, Universal. We were doing some special effects-type shots and stunt work, which takes a loooong time to complete and requires little acting. So we did a lot of laughing instead. Nathan was his usual crazy self, doing his "old material" as he likes to call it... but somehow it never stops being funny. It's always great to work as a group, and have everyone there. Just like old times, right? |

Serenity News |
Firefly Gets Big in Serenity Alan Tudyk, who plays the space pilot Wash in the upcoming SF movie Serenity, told SCI FI Wire that the movie based on Fox's canceled TV show Firefly is now shooting and will be bigger and better, with a story that picks up on the show's mythology. "I can say this, and I can't say much, because [writer/director] Joss [Whedon] would kill me," Tudky said in an interview. "In the TV show, if you know it, the characters of River [Summer Glau] and Simon [Sean Maher] were some of the people on board the ship [and] are wanted by the law. And it got us into trouble a lot. They're still wanted by the law in the movie. But the Alliance, the law, assigns a guy to catch her, who's really, really good at his job. That's all I can say." The "guy" is called simply The Operative and is played by British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor (Amistad). |

Buffy/Angel TV Movie News |
Back in Blonde A scooper at Dark Horizons.com, the super site caught an interview with James (Spike) Marsters on Australian TV where Marsters said that Joss Whedon is looking to do a few character TV movies based on the Buffyverse characters. "He's asked James can they do a Spike TV movie, Joss is looking to do a few character movies, which James is all on for," reports the scooper. "He thinks Joss is one of the best writers he's ever worked with and has told Joss that if he wants him that he is there. The only thing that is stopping this from happening is the other actors, as he doesn't know if they want to do them." |

Alan Tudyk Interview |
Alan Tudyk Brings I, Robot's Sonny to Life Alan Tudyk's one of those actors that when you mention his name to people, there's that vague look of recognition but they can't quite put their finger on where they know him from. But toss out "the guy who wanted to thrash everyone in 'A Knight's Tale'" or "the gay guy who had relationship problems in '28 Days' with Sandra Bullock" and you can see the light bulb starting to glow. And with his role in one of this summer's hottest comedies, "Dodgeball," you can also add "the guy who played the pirate in that Ben Stiller movie" to his list of credits. |

Alan Tudyk Interview |
Actor Behind Nuts & Bolts in I, Robot Less skin and bones, more techno-organic plastics. But the process isn't that different. Following in the virtual footsteps of Andy Serkis, a.k.a. Gollum in "The Lord of the Rings," Alan Tudyk plays a computer-generated character in the new movie "I, Robot." But Tudyk's role is a good bit more prominent: In fact, he portrays the title character. "It's probably the best role I've gotten to tackle in films," Tudyk says, "even though I'm not seen. But what the character deals with and what he goes through, throughout the story, was very exciting to me. |
