Angel News
Angel, Family Friendly? Angel, a Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off, stars David Boreanaz as a centuries-old vampire searching for redemption while fighting evil in Los Angeles. He enlists the help of a small cadre of friends and allies, consisting of streetwise Charles Gunn; Winifred “Fred" Burkle, a young woman Angel rescued from another dimension; demon expert and former watcher Wesley Price; as well as demon Lorne. In this, the show's fifth season, characters Connor and Cordelia are no longer with Angel's gang, and instead have been replaced with Buffy alum and vampire Spike, appearing as a non-corporeal spirit which has been somehow forced back into its mortal coils. The group has also been given control of the law firm of Wolfram and Hart, their former enemy and source of all the evil in the world. Angel seeks to turn the firm into a force for good, although he wonders what his nemesis' motive could be behind their acquiring the organization.

Sarah M. Gellar News
More Time on Gellar's Hands? SCOOBY DOO star Sarah Michelle Gellar may have openings for more work if co-star Matthew Lillard's prediction comes true. "I think it is done," Lillard, who plays Shaggy, said of the SCOOBY film series. Although the second SCOOBY flick made about $80 million at the box office, that amount was still considered somewhat disappointing.

Seth Green News
Guest Critic: Seth Green Seth Green has played a cursed teenage werewolf on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and a cursing Evil brat in the Austin Powers movies. Now he has beaten the kid-actor curse, and his latest venture, Without a Paddle, sends the diminutive comic actor off--with Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed costar Matthew Lillard and Punk'd's Dax Shepard--on a white-water adventure that gets hairier around each bend. Funnier, too.

Jewel Staite News
Jewel Writes! Hello to the faithfuls again! I've been reading your posts about DragonCon lately, and I'm so pleased that so many browncoats will be there to "carry the torch" with me, so to speak. Unfortunately, so far I'm the only cast member due to be a guest, so I hope that ain't too disappointing.. I promise to dish lots of dirt about everyone, though, considering they won't be there to defend themselves.

David Boreanaz News
Wicked Prayer Still Delayed The ABaHB.CrowFans.com fan Web site reported rumors that the much-delayed fourth Crow movie, Wicked Prayer, may see a theatrical release in February 2005 or later, but that no definitive date has been set. Confusion about the fate of the movie, which stars Edward Furlong and David Boreanaz, stems in part from turmoil at Miramax, which is rumored to be considering layoffs as negotiations continue with Miramax parent company Disney over the studio's fate. The site added that post-production on the movie continues "at a feverish pace." An earlier rumored Aug. 6 release date passed without word on the movie.

Buffy News
Want More Buffy? Since Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel left the airwaves, fans have hoped that creator Joss Whedon would resurrect the properties in one form or another. When asked about the possibility of a Buffy movie Whedon recently told IGN FilmForce, "The fans are interested. I'm interested. I don't think either Sarah or David would want to do it, but there's about 10 other characters I can name who would be totally worthy of movies. I'm just waiting for somebody to say yay or nay."
Buffy the Censor Slayer Letters The news that the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently rejected a complaint from the Parents Television Council (PTC) that an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer contained illicit nookie caused quite a stir with readers. To recap, Buffy was apparently getting down and dirty with Spike. Cue outrage from concerned parents. But what was the fuss all about, exactly? Jamie Kitson explains: Ashamed as I am to admit this, I believe that I do remember the episode which "showed" Buffy and Spike, ahem, doing the deed. The reason for the quotes, and an important bit of the story that has been missed, is that throughout most of the episode Buffy was invisible, leaving it up to your imagination what was going on. Yes my imagination went a bit far :)

Cast News
Buf can they Act?! Let’s talk "Buffy." We’ve got Alyson Hannigan and SMG and the biggest names to come out of that show... As much as I didn't like "Cruel Intentions," I can't deny that the part SMG plays in that movie is nothing like Buffy. Unfortunately, as much as I like her, Alyson Hannigan has a very distinct acting style that might make it hard for her to break out of the Willow mold. SMG, lucky for her, seems to have a bit more versatility. Anyone else on the Buffy cast have a good shot at sustaining a movie career? James Marsters? Considering that James Marsters is over 40 years old (no, really), my hopes aren't too high. In a strange way, I have hope for Nicholas Brendan, even if his biggest screen role to date was in "Psycho Beach Party."
Heavenly Tunes A CD is in the works spotlighting the music of ANGEL. Rob Kral, who wrote the score has told City of Angel that the album will include tracks from Christian Kane and Andy Hallet, as well as an extended version of the theme.

Buffy News
Buffy Show Cleared of Indecency Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Will and Grace have been cleared over indecency complaints made to US TV watchdog, the Federal Communications Commission. The complaints made by the Parent TV Council and the Americans for Decency group were rejected because the shows did not violate FCC indecency rules. Characters Buffy and Spike were shown having sex in a 2001 episode. But the FCC said there was "little evidence that the activity depicted was dwelled upon". The Commission concluded that the Buffy episode was not sufficiently explicit or graphic to be indecent and that the sex was not used "to pander, titillate or shock the audience".

James' Moonlight Rising Q&A HELLO! [much cheering and clapping from audience.] I’m slightly recovering. For those of you who were doing pictures with me earlier, I apologize. So, the way that we do this is just start asking questions. Do we have a mic in the house? We do? So the mic is right there and I do best is just kind of riffing. As opposed to me trying to tell you interesting stories, we can just get together and ask questions.

Jewel Staite News
Note from Jewel I just got over the worst cold of my life. I had the shivers, the runny nose, the sore throat, the fever, no appetite, etc. The whole shebang. It sucked. I spent most of my weekend holed up in a hot bath and drowning myself with juice and taking lots of vitamins. FUN! To make matters a bit worse, I think I got Alan Tudyk sick, too. He came to work today with a fever and a stuffy nose. Whoops.
