Buffy News |
Buffy & Sheena are Punk Rockers Buffy is a vampire slayer, not a rock musician. And yet, over the past several TV seasons, I’ve found myself thinking about her in the same way I think about Kathleen Hanna or Patti Smith. I realized this recently while discussing female vocalists with some guys I know. My tastes leaned toward women who can actually rock, while my companions preferred women who sing in bippy-dippy-doo voices about liking boys and sometimes feeling sad. |

Alexis Denisof News |
The Joke's On Who? Warner's is already looking toward a sequel to its still-in-production BATMAN BEGINS, but the studio is already said to be very eager in a sequel. According to LatinoReview.com, Warner is reportedly "very" happy with Chris Nolan's work on BEGINS, and wants a follow-up pic that will focus on Batman's arch-enemy, The Joker. Names floated of actors who may land the villain role include: Steve Buscemi, Robin Williams, Lachy Hulme, Alexis Denisof, and Mark Hamill. Hulme played Sparks in THE MATRIX films, Denisof had the role of Wesley on ANGEL, and Hamill voiced The Joker in BATMAN cartoons. |

Nathan News |
A Word from Our Captain There are so many people working together to make Serenity. The set, backstage, and basecamp are only a few places buzzing with activity to bring Joss' universe to the fans. Too numerous to mention in a mere Blog, but today, I must raise a glass in appreciation of two people without whom our production would surely crumble. None of us could be here, grinding away all day without Mary and Ernie. You won't see them operating a camera, adjusting wardrobe or creating masterful prosthetics, nor will you find them constructing massive sets or intricate props. |

Buffy Comic News |
Re-Buffed The rumors linking Joss Whedon to X-Men 3 are simply rumors… for now. Whedon expressed interest in the project several times during the convention, but also mentioned that he doesn’t know if there is any truth to the reports that he’s a contender to direct or write the next X-Men film. In other Whedon-related rumors, there’s some potential good news for Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans. Whedon is said to be in discussions with Dark Horse regarding an “eighth season” of Buffy, to be chronicled as a monthly comic. This Has A “Scythe Wielding Manic” Factor of Seven Out of Ten |

Alexis Denisof News |
Alexis as the Joker? Batman Begins hasn't even finished filming yet and already there's talk of a sequel. 'MR STUCK-IN-ADMIN' gotta a little something to tell us:
Warner is apparently "very" happy with the job Chris Nolan is doing on "Begins" and is trying to coax him into doing the sequel as soon as possible. Try two years apart. It's definite that the next sequel will concentrate on The Joker and they're already throwing names around:
Steve Buscemi - no explanation needed. Currently doing a Zwigoff film. Robin Williams - been slumming it in dark stuff lately. Lachy Hulme - played Sparks in The Matrix movies. Alexis Denisof - played Wesley, the watcher, on Buffy and Angel. Mark Hammil - played the role on the cartoons. a fan fave.
Rumors about Jack Nicholson reprising the role is 100% false. There's no way these films are going to be even remotely connected to the Burton films. |

Seth Green News |
Catching up with Seth Green We knew Seth Green was a versatile actor, but who knew he was such a great impressionist. In his new movie, Without a Paddle, he nails C3PO’s voice, and in the interview, he started off by imitating Nick Nolte. It had nothing to do with the film, but it was spot on. |

Joss News |
Joss Whedon Talks X-Men and More Editor in Chief of Marvel Comics Joe Quesada introduced one of the star writer's currently in Marvel's employ to an enthusiastic crowd late Saturday afternoon. That star is the writer of the "Astonishing X-Men" and creator and executive producer of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," "Angel" and "Firefly," Joss Whedon.
Wizard World's Whedon Weekend I'd like to take a break from usual Boob Tube introspection to make an observation: Joss Whedon is a funny guy. No, really. He brings the funny. Especially when sleep-deprived, as I discovered Saturday afternoon as he took time off from directing SERENITY and writing the monthly ASTONISHING X-MEN for Marvel to answer fan questions and give them a sneak peek at SERENITY at Chicago's Wizard World convention. |

On Friday, we ran an article titled "Want More Buffy?" that asked what character from the Buffy-verse (other than Buffy or Angel) you'd like to see on the big screen, since Joss Whedon told us, "I don't think either Sarah or David would want to do [a movie], but there's about 10 other characters I can name who would be totally worthy of movies."

General News |
Enthralled to the Night From Bela Lugosi's molding matinee idol to Anne Rice's homoerotic bloodsuckers to Buffy's bad-news bite boys, few symbols in popular culture have proved as resurgent as the vampire. "You don't get more mythical than that," chuckles Tom Hewitt, whose Dracula has been rising nightly at the Belasco Theatre in a new musical by Frank Wildhorn ("Jekyll & Hyde"), opening Thursday. "Dracula the Musical" seeks to fill the void left by "Phantom of the Opera" on Broadway — where more than 75 years ago Lugosi's Valentino-ish vamp had women swooning. |
