Nathan Fillion News |
CHUD: Nathan Fillion Interview When I walked onto the set of Serenity and saw a dude sleeping in the corner, I never imagined it was the star of the movie. I’ve seen the show and in fact I’ve interviewed Nathan Fillion before, but I guess people look different when they’re eyes are shut and their head is pointing down. In his brown leather Captain Mal costume, Fillion caught some Z’s while journalists observed shooting and talked to all of the waking filmmakers, then promptly got up when it was his turn to talk. (Minor spoilers in the interview.) |

Joss Whedon News |
CHUD: Joss Whedon Interview Those of us journalists who have interviewed Joss Whedon several times over the years know that he’s always in a various state of disarray. Balancing several TV shows at a time, he often had bloodshot eyes, scraggly hair, half or full beards, one time even bandaged hands (he’d burned himself with lemon juice or something). (Spoilers in the article) |

Serenity Spoilers |
Serenity Screening Invite Small spoilers in this article - A bit of nerd ephemera. Following up on this earlier BoingBoing post, reader Jeff "Koganuts" Koga says, "Here's a ToS for Universal's free movie screenings. I was finally able to scan in the invite I received for the first advance screening of Serenity (which won't be out in theatres until next September)." |

BtVS News |
How many TV shows feature demons turning your favourite characters into all-singing, all dancing puppets? The lyrics, in which Buffy and pals reveal the skeletons in their closets, display a dark subtext, but you’ve gotta love the chirpy tunes. |

Joss Whedon News |
Joss Whedon Courted for Wonder Woman TV Guide Online says "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" creator Joss Whedon is being wooed by Warner Bros. to write and direct a "Wonder Woman" film. The site says a deal (and, presumably, an announcement) will be forthcoming.
Whedon Confirmed for Wonder Woman? TVGuide must have an 'in' with Mutant Enemy because they're reporting that Joss Whedon's "Wonder Woman" deal is as close to a lock as the thing on my mountainbike.
Is Buffy Writer the Chosen One? Joss Whedon is staking his claim to another female superhero, reports TV Guide Online. Warner Bros. is on the verge of lassoing the Buffy the Vampire Slayer mastermind to write and direct the studio's long-gestating Wonder Woman feature film.
Whedon Wonder Woman a Weality? TV Guide’s Mike Ausiello appears to confirm Monday the rumor we reported last Tuesday regarding Joss Whedon being close to a deal to write and direct a “Wonder Woman” feature for Warner Bros. and producer Joel Silver. |

Joss Whedon News |
Whedon on Serenity Test Screening God, sorry, Joss Whedon, stopped by the Whedonesque message boards to offer his five cents on the "Serenity" test sceenings that have been happening in la la land. Says Buffy's Pop : "Okay, a few minutes to dive in before work. Yes, I was at the screening with the execs. Yes, there were more fans (due to a snafu in the recruiting process) than we were expecting and that did skew the results for the execs. We'll screen again for a more anonymous, neutral audience later. I'll not say where or when (see above re: neutral audience) (and I also don't know) and we'll have a better idea about how she's working after that.
Astonishing X-Men (trade paperback): Gifted Of course, Joss Whedon is better known for the BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER tv show more than the movie and the thought was that he'd hopefully bring the millions of BTVS tv fans over to the comic. And if that wasn't enough, they decided to bring a superstar over to handle the artwork. John Cassaday had been wowing us with his work on PLANETARY and had a too-brief stint handling the Marvel Knights relaunched CAPTAIN AMERICA. His artwork alone made it worth buying a CAPTAIN AMERICA comic again. Giving them a brand new title, ASTONISHING X-MEN and a new #1, it seemed like Marvel had a prefabricated hit already on their hand. |
