Herc's Response to the Recent "Spike TV Movie" Statement from The WB Whaaaa? Neither! “We may give some thought to a Spike movie,” he says! And I say thank you, Mr. Janollari! Thank you thank you thank you!! Can someone quickly organize a pilgrimage to Burbank, Calif., so that we may grovel gratefully en masse before Mr. Janollari’s lushly appointed office and groan thanks for his possible willingness to think about devoting two hours of valuable WB airtime - airtime that might otherwise be earmarked for an exciting two-hour “Summerland” event!! - to one of the most popular and compelling characters ever to grace American television? |

Ghost House Gurus talk Grudge sequel Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi, the guiding lights behind recent horror hit "The Grudge", told Now Playing Magazine they're well on their way to developing the sequel. “We just came from a big story conference this whole last week,” says Raimi, adding that Takashi Shimizu, the director of both The Grudge and Ju-on, is back. “He came to America, to Los Angeles, and we met with him in a little room on the Columbia Pictures lot and hammered out an outline for the first draft of part two. And he’s planning, I think, on working in the same subtle, elegant way that he made the first film in.” Also in the article, whether or not SMG will reprise her role. |

Whedon's Serenity Rides Again! When Universal mounted its first test-screening of “Serenity” in Chatsworth, Calif., last month, everyone I spoke to in line seemed to know what they were seeing, even if they weren’t terribly familiar with its writer-director or the TV show on which the movie is based. Now it looks like the studio arranged a second test-screening of Joss Whedon’s directorial debut Tuesday night in Ventura, Calif., but this time invited people who had no idea what they were seeing until they were in their seats. (Some spoilers in the article.) |

Angel News |
Angel TV Movie News Question: I'm pleased to hear that you plan to ask the WB folks about Angel movies, but please, what we need are Spike movies starring James Marsters. So, if those WBers try to brush you off with a generic "David Boreanaz is busy," you'll help us out and ask specifically about Spike, won't you please? — Grace
Ausiello: As you predicted, WB president David Janollari immediately played the "[Boreanaz] has a lot of other things going on" card when I asked him for an update on the Angel movies. But I was ready with my Spike follow-up. "I've never thought of that," he said of doing a Marsters-centric telepic. "I had not thought about it. We always thought Angel would be the character the audience would want to come back to see. We may give some thought to the Spike movie. That's interesting." I can't be sure, but I think I just pitched a show to the WB. |

Nicholas Brendon News |
Unholy Early Draft Whoo boy! Guess we've all learned to duck one way or another when an ex decides it's time for a little payback. Such appears to be the case with an email I got today which claims to be the first 14 pages of an early draft of UNHOLY. It comes courtesy of a young lady whose time at NYU gave her an axe to grind with a certain screenwriter. Now what she sent looks legit to me, or I wouldn't mention it, but keep in mind that it's always possible I have been suckered in by the shite of a bull.
More Information on Nicholas Brendon's Unholy "Unholy," a new feature length thriller starring Adrienne Barbeau (Escape from New York, The Fog, Carnivale) and Nicholas Brendon (Psycho Beach Party, Buffy The Vampire Slayer) has begun shooting in Queens, N.Y., this past weekend. Under the directorial eye of Daryl Goldberg, and penmanship of Samuel Stephen Freeman, "Unholy" is the first in-house feature for Sky Whisper Productions. Sky Whisper Productions served as an associate producer on "Zombie Honeymoon" which is currently on the festival circuit. Joshua Blumenfeld and Freeman are Sky Whisper's executive producers. |

Devilishly Pleasant Point Pleasant is Fox's answer to WB's much-missed Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And since Harnois resembles that show's Sarah Michelle Gellar and Michelle Trachtenberg, this little devil could prove one hot find. |

Jewel Staite News |
A Note from Jewel So far this year, I've done nothing but be irresponsible, which is always fun. We just got back from a vacation/not-so-much-of-a-vacation in Cancun. If anyone's ever been there, you know what I'm talking about. It's not exactly the type of place where you relax and read a book, you know? After morning water aerobics, there's tequila vollyball, "crazy hour" (where people make serious asses of themselves in the pool), "happy hour", and then shuttles that leave from your hotel to various nightclubs around town. I feel like I need a vacation from my vacation. We usually go to Maui every year, around February, and it's worlds different from Cancun. In Maui I go through about three novels, sleep on the beach all day, have incredible food for dinner (the best sushi ever), and then watch the stars before going to bed nice and early. I don't know what I was expecting from Cancun, but it's NOTHING like Maui. We still had fun, though. |

Sarah M. Gellar News |
Southland Tales Officially Greenlit We received word that Southland Tales has officially been greenlit! Filming will start this "summer" with a firm start date determined once the schedules have been worked out with the actors. Of the big name stars rumored to be involved, we can confirm Sarah Michelle Gellar and Seann William Scott. There is a third major actor that will be in the film, but we can't disclose a name yet. As we said before, we anticipate that there will be an official news release in the near future which should answer the major questions. Also, the front page of the website for the film has been changed slightly. It seems like this site will continually evolve, so we'll be checking back frequently. |
