Joss Whedon News |
Whedon Wooed for Wonder Producer Joel Silver confirmed to SCI FI Wire that he is wooing Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon to write and direct a new film version of Wonder Woman. "I'm trying," Silver said in an interview at WonderCon in San Francisco on Feb. 19. "I'm trying to work a deal with Joss. ... I was just in the other room [where Whedon was talking about his upcoming SF movie, Serenity]. I don't know if I could work that out. It's a complicated deal to do, but I would love him to do it. It would be great if he could do it." |

Angel DVD News |
Vampire Series with Bite as Second Life on DVD Some television shows keep going long after the life has been sucked out of them. Others die before realizing their potential. And then there's "Angel." Created as a spin-off of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Angel" was the saga of a centuries-old vampire cursed with a soul, striving to protect the helpless and earn redemption for the countless lives he had taken. For four seasons, "Angel" seemed poise to be a really great show. In its fifth season, everything clicked - and then it was canceled by the WB. |

Seth Green News |
Fast, furious and totally loopy: That's Robot Chicken Television doesn't get much loopier than the Cartoon Network's latest "Adult Swim" cartoon, Robot Chicken. "It's a stop-motion sketch comedy show, so it's fast and furious," said Seth Green, one of the show's creators. "It's in the forum of watching television, so you'll flip through the channels and you'll see bursts of static. We have sketches that are as short as two seconds, and sketches as long as four minutes. And the whole thing is a tightly packed ADD-type of television, satirical content, lampooning pop-culture events." (Some show spoilers) |

Angel DVD News |
Angel Season 5 DVD Review Nobody, not the producers, not the actors, and certainly not the fans could have predicted where this show would go. Where it could go. After all, this is an hour-long fantasy about a guy who spends so much time sitting in the shadows and brooding so much he would give Batman a run for his money. Or utility belt, as the case may be. So why is it that after five years and over a hundred episodes this show was still one of the freshest on TV? Simple: this is a story about something.
Angel Season 5 - Let's go to Work In order to keep ‘Angel’ on the air for a fifth season, Joss Whedon and the gang at Mutant Enemy had to make a few changes. So, they totally revamped the series – transplanting the Angel Investigations team to the unhallowed halls of Wolfram & Hart. Combining this ‘minor’ change with the network’s request for more standalone episodes resulted in one of the most creative and entertaining seasons of any of Whedon’s three series. |

TV's 20 Best Same-Sex Kisses: Willow & Tara Top the Poll! 1. Willow and Tara, Buffy the Vampire Slayer 2001: Wiccan witches Willow and Tara had been platonically chanting, lighting candles and holding hands to save the world — until the day Buffy's mom unexpectedly dies. That's when Tara takes the grieving Willow's head in her hands, kisses her forehead, then finally, tenderly and lingeringly lands one right on the lips. Covens of Buffy fans around the country sang hallelujah. "I told them, 'You guys will kiss and it will be when nobody's expecting it and nobody's looking for it and it will not be advertised,'" says creator Joss Whedon. "It's just going to happen when it's natural for the characters." |

Angel Season 5 DVD Review By all means, yes. Angel Season Five was one of the two best seasons of the 5-year run (Season 3 being the other) and is well worth adding to your collection. It goes without saying, if you have never watched Angel, please do yourself a huge favor and start with Season 1. This is a show that revisits its past in dialogue all the time so you do not want to be left wondering what they were talking about. This DVD is a fine tribute to the final season of one of the best shows to have ever been shown on TV. |

Amy Acker News |
As Good as Lorenzo Lamas, Better Than the Goo Goo Dolls I called Amy Acker, a very attractive actress who played Fred on the WB's "Angel" for three seasons, appears in a family baseball movie with Sean Astin this summer and, more important, has a familiarity four points lower than mine. Acker needed me bad. I offered to accompany Acker, who also is married, to awards shows and red-carpet parties, but unfortunately, she told me she doesn't get invited to many of those. And she's kind of busy since she had a son named Jack three weeks ago. |
