Nathan Fillion News |
Troma Slithers on Set I am psyched about James Gunn's directorial debut, Slither. It's supposed to be a body horror film the likes of which we haven't seen in about a decade or more. And word on the street is that the script is pretty damn good as well. (Starring Nathan Fillion.) |

Michelle Trachtenberg News |
Michelle Trachtenberg Ready to Leave Kid Projects Behind Actress Michelle Trachtenberg is urging her young fans to make the most of upcoming Disney film Ice Princess - because it's likely to be her last kids movie. The 19-year-old, who starred in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Inspector Gadget, feels she is ready to move on to more grown-up material. She says, "I don't know that I'd like to do another teenage film. I want to do more character-oriented, probably independent movies." In her next movie, Mysterious Skin, Trachtenberg will play the best friend of a child molestation victim. |

Serenity News |
On the Set: Firefly Actors Enjoy a New Serenity "I'll talk about 'Firefly' until the cows come home," says Adam Baldwin in January interview. "It was a labor of love. It was hard for us to be under the gun early on. We didn't hook a big enough audience, that's the bottom line. I'm not going to second-guess why." In the short-lived FOX series, Baldwin played Jayne Cobb, the brawn to everyone else's brains aboard the rickety, Firefly-class cargo ship Serenity, some 500 or so years in the future. |

James Marsters News |
Kristin Loves James' Cool Money Love the James Marsters info in last week's column. Have you seen Cool Money? And what pilots is James auditioning for? Yes, as I mentioned, I've seen it and it is totally worth canceling your Saturday night plans! So, make sure you do. James isn't at liberty to talk about the roles he's up for (Hollywood politics), but I'm hearing he's up for some very big, very leading-man type roles. How de-lish is that? |

Marti Noxon News |
Point Fate not Pleasant Marti Noxon, executive producer of Fox's struggling supernatural series Point Pleasant, told SCI FI Wire that she and the writing staff are crafting a season finale that will provide a sense of closure in part because she doubts the show will get picked up for a second season. The finale will leave some threads dangling, but will also wrap things up for fans who tuned in to all 13 episodes. |

Joss Whedon News |
Two Days! Wonder Woman Producer Joel Silver Tells Herc! Now to understand this stupid conversation, you have to know that on Dec. 14 Ain’t It Cool broke the news Silver was pursuing Joss Whedon to write and direct a “Wonder Woman” movie. Silver finally confirmed as much to SciFi Wire on Feb. 20. "I'm trying to work a deal with Joss,” he told SciFi. “I don't know if I could work that out. It's a complicated deal to do, but I would love him to do it. It would be great if he could do it." |

James Marsters News |
James Marsters in Strange Frequence 2: A DVD Review While all of the segments are good, the best is Soul Man, as not only do we get to see James Marsters (Spike from Buffy, the Vampire Slayer and Angel) in a new light, but the story is a fresh look at the classic "making a deal with the devil" tale. Cold Turkey is the weakest, but the blame for that should fall on the shoulders of the writers and not John Hawkes and Patsy Kensit, who deliver great performances. |

BtVS News |
Build Your TV ALL I WANT is to make a high-definition copy of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, save it on a DVD, and loan it to my friend," says Sarah Brydon, looking up from a long table covered with half-built computers. These sound like the words of a science fiction nerd, not a revolutionary. But Brydon is a new breed of protester – and she's expressing her discontent with the U.S. government by building a television. |

Comic News |
Spike Comic News Yes, as per the Newsarama item, I will be writing a one-shot "Spike" comic for IDW in August. Long time "Buffy" fans will appreciate the concept that Spike winds up squaring off against none other than Hallie the Vengeance Demon, who has a rather unique connection to Spike that was hinted at during season six of BtVS. This story will actually address that connection, shedding some interesting light on Spike's origins. |

Michelle Trachtenberg News |
Icy Hot The road from child star to professional young-adult actor is littered with broken spirits, substance abuse and bruised egos. Not so for Michelle Trachtenberg. At just 19, Trachtenberg is probably best known as the kid sister on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," but she’s been center stage for more than 10 years, starring in movies like 1996’s "Harriet the Spy" and, three years later, "Inspector Gadget." Her big break as Buffy's little sister, Dawn, came in 2000. Next up: her new movie, Disney’s “Ice Princess,” which opens March 18. Trachtenberg recently spoke with NEWSWEEK’s Nicki Gostin about double axels, bathroom hang-ups and whether she owes Sarah Michelle Gellar a kidney. |

Audio Interview with Anthony S. Head Speaking on BBC Somerset Sound on the 10th Red Nose Day, Tony said that when he first read the script for Little Britain, he didn't realise just how funny it was. It was only after his agent persuaded him to look at the script again that he realised that the show had great comic potential. General News |
Buffy a Template for New Doctor Who? Televisual, an television industry magazine, has run an extensive piece on the new series in which producer Steve Moffat admits that the blueprint for the new series was Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Fans may remember rumors that had Buffy producer Joss Whedon being eyed to take over the re-launch of the series. In the article, Moffat states, "I don't think the fact that we're in the post-Star Wars era is an issue, but matching Buffy is. Doctor Who was never a space drama anyway, it was about horror: dark shadows and creepy monsters lurking just around the corner." |

Angel Comic Book News |
Angel: The Curse #1 Preview IDW has provided Newsarama with peeks of its upcoming Angel miniseries, The Curse, written by Jeff Mariotte, with art by David Messina. As the publisher said of the story in its press release about the new miniseries: IDW Publishing returns Angel to comics in Angel: The Curse, the first five-issue Angel miniseries that sees him going it alone. Angel is on the run in a mysterious forest in Romania, searching for the Gypsy clan that cursed him so many years ago. But he discovers that the landscape of Romania has changed considerably since he's been gone — now, the Gypsies are oppressed, living under the thumb of a local warlord who holds his power by using a vampire army. Angel is forced to take a stand, and the resulting conflict may well doom any hope Angel has of ever reversing the curse. |
