Sarah M. Gellar News |
Sony Announces The Grudge: Extended Edition Specs! I'm pumped for this sucker, why? Because from what I understand this version of the film fixes everything I HATE about Sony Screen Gem's The Grudge (review #1, #2). On May 17th you'll be able to pick up Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's upcoming release of The Grudge: Unrated Extended Director's Cut on DVD, which not only will be a different movie, but be loaded with extras. Takashi Shimizu's fifth Ju- on film is a supernatural horror film concerning a virus-like curse that hits certain people at death, only to be passed along to a new victim. Read on for full details on the specs... |

Details on Lobby Hero, J. August's new Play Set in the lobby of a Manhattan high-rise, Lobby Hero charts the relationships between two security guards and two police officers – enduring the graveyard shift, and dealing with the problems caused by doing the right things for the wrong reasons. Or is that the wrong thing for the right reasons.... Time Out New York called Lobby Hero "The best drama, the best comedy, the best romance, the best character study, and the best issue play all in one." This hit off-Broadway play offers a vivid slice of contemporary life with this touching story of four ordinary people caught up in extraordinary circumstances. |

Eliza Dushku News |
Calling it an A for Effort I'll admit it: It's not the greatest series on television. It's not slickly produced. Its scripts can lapse into stilted dialogue -- the same sort of not-quite-right, slightly too formalistic speech that's more common to soap operas. And the acting on the part of some of the secondary players seems occasionally wooden. |

Michelle Trachtenberg News |
They've Got What it Takes Michelle Trachtenberg, 19, stars in the new Disney ice-skating drama Ice Princess. It's a bit like Blue Crush on ice and, like Bosworth, Trachtenberg started in the business young, when she conspicuously landed the role of the precocious Harriet in Harriet The Spy at age 10. (She too dates an actor, Shawn Ashmore, the X-Men's youthful Iceman.) But unlike Bosworth, she made the classic television transition to the big screen. She played Dawn in Buffy The Vampire Slayer and as an eight-year-old had a part in the soap opera All My Children. |
