Serenity News |
Grant Us Serenity It was exhilarating. It was devastating. It was the best night ever for fans of Joss Whedon's "Firefly." Last week we saw "Serenity," the movie based on Whedon's canceled TV show, months before it will hit theaters. And we did it with 240 other geeks who totally got it. (Contains minor Serenity spoilers.)
Oh Serenity! A Firefly ARG? Casual surfing this evening led me to a rather interesting website… BlueSun.org. On the surface, the site is unremarkable with just a simple image and a title of Coming Soon. So, why am I intrigued? What led me there? |

Alan Tudyk News |
Buried Treasure: Interview with Alan Tudyk The uninitiated can be forgiven for not distinguishing Tudyk right away. After all, in less than a decade of making movies, the actor has amassed a rather eclectic résumé, including a 14th century squire, a carnival con man, a space cowboy, a coke-addicted German stripper, a mental patient, a robot, and, yes, a man who thinks he's a pirate. |

Joss Whedon News |
Joss a No-No for X-Men 3? Fans continue to suggest Joss Whedon for the director's chair but he's now obligated to Joel Silver's Wonder Woman. If Whedon were a contender he might also want to revise the script and that could delay filming even more, an obvious no-no for Fox. |

Jewel Staite News |
A Note From Jewel Ahhh June.... My favorite month. It's warm, it's my birthday, the beach is packed, it's not too hot, it's my birthday, all the summer clothes are finally out in the stores, the barbeque is getting good use, and it's also my birthday! The big 2-3 this year. Almost time to start acting responsibly, but not quite. I've managed to stretch the bday into two days this year: a lovely dinner out with my family and bestest friends on the Thursday, and an all-nighter party-hardy on the Saturday (yes, bought new dress—it's cashmere and green—HOTNESS). Hopefully the weather will hold up and it'll be fantastic. Even if it doesn't, champagne is also nice to drink indoors as well. |

Tim Minear News |
The Inside Preview As promised, I watched the first three episodes of Fox's The Inside last weekend. The more I saw, the more I grew attached to the series, which follows a band of cute and clever FBI agents (led by the no-nonsense Peter Coyote!) who investigate violent crimes. What I liked about the show: It's created by Buffy vet Tim Minear, and it retains some of that epic, mystical feeling. The ensemble cast, led by newcomer Rachel Nichols, works together well. And so far, no mystery has ended the way I thought it would. |

Serenity Comic Book News |
Serenity Comic to Bridge Gap Between TV and Screen In the months before the September release of Joss Whedon's "Serenity," Dark Horse Comics is helping fill in just what happened in the six months since the last events of the original TV show "Firefly" and the events of the big screen movie. A three-issue miniseries, written by creator Joss Whedon and "Firefly" writer Brett Matthews and featuring art by Will Conrad, along with covers by some of today's hottest artists, starts this June. |

J. August Richards News |
See J. August in Lobby Hero You can currently go and see J. August in theatre in a new play called Lobby Hero. Set in the lobby of a Manhattan high-rise, Lobby Hero charts the relationships between two security guards and two police officers – enduring the graveyard shift, and dealing with the problems caused by doing the right thing for the wrong reasons. Or is that the wrong thing for the right reasons…. Time Out New York called Lobby Hero “the best drama, the best comedy, the best romance, the best character study, and the best issue play all in one.” This hit off-Broadway play offers a vivid slice of contemporary life with this touching story of four ordinary people caught up in extraordinary circumstances. Check the link for images and the full story. Read More |

BtVS News |
Coolest Gadgets in Buffy The gadgets used by Buffy and the Scooby Gang are, for the most part, decidedly low-tech. Generally speaking, they tend to restrict themselves to home-made weapons, such as your garden variety wooden stake (it's a classic for a reason), or at the very least, the medieval (you know: swords, crossbows, what have you). However, the hit show did periodically dabble in the high-tech, oftentimes with comedy ensuing. |

Angel News |
One Party I'll Hate to Miss This weekend, at a hotel somewhere in New Jersey, between hands of Demon Hold'em poker and Demon Dancing that lasts long into the night, a singular group of men and women will gather to eat, drink, be merry (in a dark and brooding way, of course). These folks will celebrate the impending wrap on one of the truly great fan enterprises, the City of Angel Web site. |

Serenity News |
Back to the Future Writer-director Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel) is trying to create buzz by showing an unfinished version of the film, which he was able to produce only after fans formed a ''Can't stop the signal'' campaign and made the boxed DVD set of all 14 episodes a top seller. In an introduction to the action-packed film, Whedon thanked fans for their support and asked them to spread the word about the movie -- or keep quiet if they didn't like it. Judging from the raucous applause throughout the showing, he has little to worry about. |
