Carter Open to Wonder Woman Cameo
Lynda Carter, who played Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in the 1970s television series Wonder Woman, told SCI FI Wire that she'd welcome the opportunity to appear in the big-screen version to be written and directed by Joss Whedon. "There is actually this thing on the Internet, like a sign-up campaign, that says, 'We want Lynda in Wonder Woman,'" Carter said in an interview while promoting her latest movie, the SF family comedy Sky High. "It's very cute, very sweet. I think it would be great. I'd love to do it."

Seth Green Interview
Buffy TV movie rumors, Austin Powers 4 and dealing with fame. Have you been approached for any of the Buffy TV movies? No. It’s funny because I get discussed on the internet and in the ether about that stuff and it’s never official. There was a great rumor that went around at one point that they were doing a Halloween special and I was a rumor going to be on it, and this rumor lived and died on the internet.

Serenity Now
When third-generation television writer Joss Whedon created the series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" -- based on his own script for the feature film -- he had a hit on his hands. The same thing happened when he came up with the "Buffy" spin-off series "Angel." Fans came to refer to his shows as part of the "Jossverse," and at times were of the rabid variety. Yet fans couldn't save Whedon's best work, the short-lived 2002 science fiction series "Firefly." Fourteen episodes of this "Western in outer space" were filmed, but only 11 of them had aired when Fox Television pulled the plug.

Serenity International Trailer
This baby is going to be huge at this year's Edinburgh Festival. We're hearing that all of the screenings for SERENITY sold out fast prompting the disribs to arrange more. Which is great news for Joss Whedon's directorial debut, based on the show, FIREFLY.

Spike Movie?
Yes, it's really me. Kristin Veitch. (Soon to be Vartan.) So ... HOLY POOP! Just talked to Alyson Hannigan (LOVE HER) at CBS' panel session for "How I Met Your Mother." When asked about the possibility of a Buffy movie, she said "last I heard, they were doing a Spike movie" and that it would be "straight to DVD." (!!!) Could this be the "big new project" James Marsters was alluding to? Alyson also said she's THRILLED that Charisma Carpenter is joining Veronica Mars and would love to get back on that show and have a reunion. (Dare we dream?)

Buffy and Angel Are Back! Well, Sorta--Get a Sneak Peek at All the Alums' New Series
Fruit baskets. Action figures. Customized M&Ms. One look at my mail bin lately, and you'll come to the same realization as our trusty mail guy Peter did earlier this week: "Those Buffy and Angel fans just don't stop, do they?" Clearly, they don't. And as a fellow Whedonverse devotee, I gotta say, it makes my heart gushy-wushy (and a little racy from all the sugar) to see that long after the final episodes of Buffy and Angel, the fan base is not only alive and kicking but screaming for some kind of spinoff.

Mysterious Skin Film may be Banner
The American director of controversial film Mysterious Skin says he is stunned the movie about sexually abused teenagers may be banned in Australia. Speaking in Sydney ahead of the film's first Australian screening, Gregg Araki said Mysterious Skin had not created controversy in any other country. "I am very surprised," Araki said. "The fact (is) that the film has opened already in so many other countries with no incident, no problem with censorship or anything." The film, classified R18+, was referred to the Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification after a complaint by federal Attorney General Philip Ruddock.

Five hundred years in the future, a veteran of the losing side of a galactic civil war must find a way to survive on his own terms under the government's radar. With a small, quirky crew and a small, quirky ship, Captain Malcolm Reynolds takes on whatever job, legal or otherwise, that he can get. It's Whedon's Show bu Fillion Steals It
Joss Whedon's ability to draw a crowd grows each year at Comic-Con. Two years ago he was up close and personal with folks in an enlarged lecture hall. In 2004 he and the cast of the upcoming Serenity feature film moved into the big leagues in the 4,200-seat Room 20. This year, Universal put Whedon -- best known as the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel -- and the cast of Serenity in the 6,500-seat Hall H, which echoed with applause -- some from a partial standing ovation -- when Whedon walked on stage.

The Serenity Panel
The applause was thunderous when fan favorite Joss Whedon took the stage, then introducing the vocal and vicarious cast with a series of questions. "Who's my favorite? Mmm, Morena Baccarin! (walks out to applause) Who do I want to punish? Sean Maher! (walks out to applause) Who am I scared of? Ron Glass ..." and so on, as Nathan Fillion, Summer Glau, Gina Torres and Adam Baldwin (wielding an action figure of himself) were introduced. The panel began before the cast started wheedling Whedon about maybe forgetting somebody. "Oh ... who's probably going to kick my *** in a few minutes? Jewel Staite!" The actress stomped out, frowning, as Whedon crossed the stage to bow prostrate before her. She stared angrily for a moment, as the crowd hooted with laughter, and after a moment she came over to hug the still-prostrate director. She walked to her seat and he returned, on his knees, to the podium. Alan Tudyk had a prior commitment and could not attend.

:: Joss Whedon News
Wondering About Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman was on the mind of many con-goers. Whedon is writing a script for a movie and will direct the adventure, but the lead actress has yet to be cast. Uber-producer Joel Silver reportedly will helm the Wonder Woman flick. In the Veronica Mars panel, a fan Friday directed a question to both Silver, executive producer of Veronica Mars, and Carpenter, a new cast member of the cult show, "Where's Wonder Woman?" To tons of applause, Charisma said to Joel: "I didn't set it up." But that's all that was said.

The picture wasn't made any clear the next day when Whedon and most of the cast of the upcoming film Serenity appeared in the cavernlike Hall H, which can hold 6,500. A fan suggested Whedon cast Gina Torres as Wonder Woman. Joss, in his usually dry wit, replied: "She and Morena (Baccarin) will have to fight to the death (for the part.) And Adam (Baldwin)."

Baldwin said: "I'm sure I'll let them win."

Not to be left out, Nathan Fillion, who was a cut-up throughout most of the panel discussion, channeled Lynda Carter from the campy Wonder Woman television series by twirling around as if to change into his costume, fending off bullets with imaginary bracelets and pushing up a make-believe bustier. Many fans left Comic-Con still wondering about Wonder Woman. And about Nathan Fillion.

A Piece of Serenity
If the Serenity panel at the San Diego Comic-Con proved one thing, it's that no news is still pretty good news. Joss Whedon stopped by the show with the entire cast (sans Alan Tudyk) to drum up more hype and support for his futuristic sci-fi western flick. They weren't there to reveal more sneak previews or announce another delay; they were just there to share their passion for the finished project.

Sample Serenity Soundtrack
CantStopTheSignal.co.uk have put up four sample tracks from Serenity, available to download.

:: David Boreanaz News
Furlong takes over The Crow in fourth film
Best known as Angel, the vampire with a soul in Joss Whedon's "Buffy" TV series and "Angel" spinoff, Boreanaz stretches his considerable horror muscles as the sadistic Luc and also as the megalomaniacal Satan, whom director Lance Mungia and producer John Most compare to a used car salesman in their feature commentary. He's the best actor of the lead bunch, and the best in the whole cast, Dennis Hopper, has a devilishly amusing cameo as an urban-talking pimp. (He even sports a cane and a fur coat. Now that's stylin' and profilin'.)
