Buffy Comic News |
Whedon: Buffy Lives in Comics Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, told fans on the Whedonesque.com fan Web site that he will be continuing the story of the Slayer in a series of Dark Horse comics, which he will write. "Speaking of Dark Horse Comics, they are starting a new Buffy comic, and as I understand it, it will take place after the end of Buffy and Angel and be canon in the Buffy world. And I understand it that way 'cause I'M WRITING IT. I'm kicking off the book with a four-issue arc that finds Buffy—you guessed it—living in Italy with The Immortal. ...Then I'll be overseeing the book more closely, to make sure it remains true." |

No Full Season for Kitchen Confidential ARRESTED NO, PRISON YES: Variety is reporting that Fox has cut back its episode order for the Emmy-winning yet ratings-anemic Arrested Development, has advised Kitchen Confidential execs that the freshman series will not be picked up for a full season, and — here comes the salt — is pulling both shows from the schedule for at least the remainder of November sweeps. Fox will air Prison Break repeats in the 8 pm/ET Monday slot for the time being, unless, that is, Jason Bateman gives up Fibonacci. |

Serenity News |
Serenity Makes Quick Voyage to DVD Joss Whedon's short-lived FOX drama "Firefly" found its greatest success on DVD and it looks like Universal is hoping the same will be true of Whedon's feature "Serenity." After 38 days in release, "Serenity" has grossed just over $25 million domestically and it'll make its transition onto DVD on December 20, a theater-to-home window of well under three months, an extra fast turnaround. |

Joss Whedon News |
The Allure of Joss Whedon Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon is a writer, not an actor. But tonight he can be seen in front of the camera, playing a difficult car rental manager who causes problems for the titular teenage sleuth in Veronica Mars. Could this be the start of a new career for Whedon? He isn't counting on it. "Douglas the Car Rental Guy is really going to change the way we think about television," Whedon says, and pauses to let that sink in. "It'll make a lot of people want to turn it off."
Caught in the Orbit of Mars It started innocently enough: Joss Whedon had just watched what he calls "a Veronica Marsathon" and he couldn't help himself as he sent his love for UPN's "Veronica Mars" out in cyberspace via his website, www.whedonesque.com. |

Grant, is about a man who has almost 100 per cent successfully detached himself from all that goes on around him. Sarah M. Gellar News |
Shallowness of starlets Gets Gellar re-Buff Buffy the Vampire Slayer has something to say to women everywhere: You have lost your way. "Think about Rosa Parks," Sarah Michelle Gellar intoned to Lowdown the other night at the DKNY Jeans party. "There was a woman who did so much for other women. And nowadays, women are famous for the way they wear their hair. Or designers they wear. Or who they date." Hmmmm. Can't imagine who she's talking about. Buffy continued: "Someone like Rosa Parks reminds you that fighting for women's causes is the most important thing we can do." |
