Alyson Hannigan always wanted to experience love like in the movies. "I truly believe the film 'Say Anything' ruined real-life romance for all women of my generation," she says. Done the Impossible DVD Review
The Fans' Tale of Firefly and Serentiy – A Documentary had its world premiere tonight at the San Francisco Wonder Con. Hosted by Adam Baldwin it features interviews with Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Jewel Staite, and many others, including members of the fan base, known as “Brown Coats.” A telling documentary, this film goes in-depth into a fan base that first formed when the short-lived Fox series, Firefly , was abruptly cancelled. Meeting other disgruntled viewers, these Browncoats formed a family-like atmosphere through their discussion boards and live meetings, creating a new style of fan never seen before. All were hell-bent on getting Firefly back on television – or in theatres. |

Serenity DVD Reviewed
When something’s badly wounded, it usually dies and…. stays dead. But in the case of "Firefly", a short-lived TV series that aired (out of sequence, mind you) for twelve short weeks in 2002, a knock on heaven’s door was met with no retort. The Sci-Fi Western was merely greeted by a ‘Closed – Come Back Later’ sign stuck on the pearly gates, and so, it promptly slid back down the white lights – and back to life for a second chance, or, lengthened existence. Bless those angelic fans. Created by celebrated "Buffy" alumni Joss Whedon, "Firefly" was an episodical part sci-fi, part Western show that told of a small space freighter whose crew are willing to take whatever types of jobs come their way in order to preserve a way of life outside of the regimented Alliance. |

Buffy Goes on a diet - Slim Sets Announced
Buffy has shed some weight, at least in terms of shelf space. Fox has announced that they are repromoting Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 1-7 in new slim packaging, and at a reduced price. They recently did the same thing with The X-Files, however they removed the last disc in each season set which reduced the included bonus materials. |

Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles has teamed up with Action Figure Xpress to create an exclusive BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER action figure of the title character from the first season episode "The Witch." This figure which depicts Buffy as a cheerleader, stands 6” tall and was sculpted by Gentle Giant from a digital scan of Sarah Michelle Gellar. But wait a sec: wasn’t Riley and Buffy’s whole relationship pretty much the stereotypical college romance? Less fireworks, more sleepovers. Less drama, more sex. Instead of a romantic, bittersweet parting enforced by graduation, an ugly gradual one enforced by her just not being as into it. Second love is never quite as epochal as first love, and a major part of young adulthood (if not specifically freshman year of college) is learning that you will date and sleep with people who aren’t your true love. Hell, you’ll sleep with people you don’t even like. In the extra features for the Seaon Four Buffy DVDs, writer Jane Espenson talks about a line of dialogue cut regarding Buffy’s earlier tryst with the lecherous Parker, which could just as well apply to the milquetoast Mr. Finn: it was all about Angel. |

Don't Wait for Willow
Alyson Hannigan, who played Willow Rosenberg for seven years on the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, told SCI FI Wire that she occasionally hears rumors about proposed TV movies based on Buffy or its spinoff series, Angel, but doubts that creator Joss Whedon will ever get around to realizing a telefilm based on her character. "I don't know," Hannigan said in an interview while promoting her new film, the comedy Date Movie. "Yeah, it pops up every now and then, and I just don't know. I just treasure the experience. It was such a great, long chapter of my life." |

Anthony Receives his Best Supporting Actor Award
Meanwhile, Anthony Head was amazed to learn that not only had he won Best Supporting Actor, for his performance as Richard E Grant’s drunken friend in the revival of Simon Gray’s Otherwise Engaged, but that he’d done so with 29% of the overall vote in his field of six. “Blow me sideways!” exclaimed Head. “I’ve never won anything before – well not since I was named Most Promising Actor in a local am-dram competition.”
