Homecoming
Story Line
We first see Faith in this episode, working out with Buffy. Buffy's doing the hitting and Faith is taking the punches (not unlike their lives!) Faith tells Buffy she should be dumped more often, as she's got some ". . .quality rage going." Seeing that Buffy's glum thanks to being dumped by Scott, Faith suggests that they go to the HomeComing dance together. "Then later we can find a coulpa studs, use them then discard them! That's always fun." Buffy is coy at first. Playing like she'd never do that. But, it only takes seconds for her to agree. The scene ends interestingly. Cordelia opens the door to the library, and we hear the two Slayers discussing their mode of transportation. The camera then follows Cordelia's path and the scene ends.
By the time we see Faith again, Buffy and Cordelia have been fighting over HomeComing Queen. Only willing to help patch things up, Faith has given up her ride in the limo (unseen) so that Buffy and Cordy can sort things out. Unbeknownst to everyone, Mr. Trick has organized Buffy and Faith's deaths via Bounty Hunters. Because of the seat switch in the limo, Cordelia is mistaken for Faith and both girls are fighting for their lives. Meanwhile, back at the dance, the only other scene with Faith plays out. Faith humiliating Scott. She tells him that: "The doctor says that the itching and the swelling and the burning should clear up, but we gotta keep using the ointment." She then leaves a stunned Scott and confused date to sort things out. However, rather than follow Faith and let us see if she's having a good time, or 'enjoying' herself as much as Willow, Xander and Giles (i.e. not at all), we pan to a miserable and guilt ridden Willow and Xander, which is a real shame. Aside from myself, I know plenty of others who'd love to have seen how Faith was going. C'est la vie.
