The Zeppo Episode Guide

Summary

This is a Xander driven episode. In case you're unfamiliar with the title, it refers to Zeppo Marx of the Marx Brother's fame, he was the least well-known one. Seldom seen or heard, which we all know is Xander's paranoia (especially now with a very pissed-off Cordy on his back). Faith's probably got the second largest portion of the episode (referring to the usual cast) and certaintly, one of the most important factors in the changing Xander: he loses his virginity to her. The 'b'story arch of this episode is the end of the world, another apocalypse Buffy and friends have to stop. The fact that this is the B story arch, makes it very funny.

Everyone is so preoccupied with the end of the world that no one notices Xander's problems and he's too embarrassed to mention it. He's become 'wheelman' to four dead guys who are looking for a good time. Can Buffy and company stop Armageddon? And can Xander survive on his own?

Story Line

The pre-credit opening has Giles, Buffy, Faith, Willow and Xander fighting demons known as 'The sisterhood of Jhe'. Apocalyptic harbringers and extremely hard to kill. Faith notes that they're "wicked rowdy" and asks Giles what their deal is. Comedy comes in the form of everyone looking for Xander, who finally emerges, asking the rest of the gang to let him know if they see his spine on the ground. Breakdown

Faith's participation is fairly short, but it's quite crucial. In this episode, she's a team player. Not only is she fighting alongside Buffy, but also Xander and Willow. She asks Giles about the demons they're fighting, showing an interest in 'who, what, where, and why' that many accuse her of not having.
