Break Down

Faith's participation is fairly short, but it's quite crucial. In this episode, she's a team player. Not only is she fighting alongside Buffy, but also Xander and Willow. She asks Giles about the demons they're fighting, showing an interest in 'who, what, where, and why' that many accuse her of not having. Also, not treating the loss of Xander's virginity as a triumph or joke contradicts Buffy's accusation in Consequences. In fact, pre-opening credits in Bad Girls, Faith seems quite interested in Xander. It's almost a rule of thumb with Faith, that if things are going well for her, you can bet her world will come crashing down in the next episode. It actually lends credence to her statement in Enemies, that she believes she's "more owed than owing." Getting back to this episode, as stated, she's right back in the Scooby Gang. Post Xander sees her in the library helping to prevent the end of the world with Buffy, Willow, Giles and Angel. Also of note is the fact that Eliza could bring her Bostonian colloquialisms back in this episode, which makes Faith more endearing.
