Faith’s Tattoo 
Faith's tattoo is perfect for her (in design). The design is litterally two images together. It gives the feeling that she doesn't know whether she is coming or going. Good or bad. Confused.
The '96' could represent when she got it done (Age 14 approx-going by the fact she's most likely 16 in 98). Whether it does or not, the fact that the two images are opposite is more than enough, seeing as Faith is Buffy's opposite.
The 'thorns' are fairly self explanatory. You won't touch Faith without getting hurt. Physically and/or emotionally. Sadly for Faith, it seems she hurts far more than anyone around her, though.
The waves are cool. They allude to Faith's love of 'sharp'. You could guess she'd love knives before we knew she did.
It has never been commented on in the show when or why Faith got this tattoo, we don't know what significance it holds to her.

Robyn's 5x5 Tattoo. I got the tattoo in May, the night before Faith returned to the seventh season of Buffy. I got it here in Houston, at Miss Fortune tattoos on Westhiemer. I went with '5x5' for about a million reasons, starting with the fact that everyone always jokingly referred to me as "the dark slayer" or "the Faith" of our group when she appeared in season three. Some of the more deeper meanings it holds for me is in the phrase itself... 5x5 meaning everything's fine, and everything is okay, no need to get my panties in a bunch over anything. Also, it's Faith's signature saying, and it's there because you gotta have faith. I think that it was kinda karmic that I couldn't afford it until I could, because it was there when she made her reappearance on Buffy. I'm a big geek and a huge "Faith" fan, but I also really admire Eliza Dushku and her other movies! :) |

Ali's 'Faith' Tattoo. I've wanted a tattoo since I was 16 but I could never decide on what I wanted. It's for life, so it's something I wanted to be perfect, obviously. As soon as I saw Faith (FHT) I thought her tattoo was cool. However, as I became more of a fan, I began seriously thinking I should get hers. I love Faith, she's so damaged and just really in need of love. By the end of third season it was a no-brainer that I'd get hers. She even had it where I was getting it (upper right arm) I had it done here at home, in Ireland, in Summer 2000. It's like being in a club. I love the tat, I love Faith. |
