Floor Plans Faith Lehane

We have drawn floor plans of Faith's two places of residence we've seen; her motel room and the appartment the Mayor got for her. Hopefully this will prove to be a good resource to any fanfic writers out there wanting to have scenes play out in any of these rooms.

Exteriors

The view of Faith's motel exterior is a little deceiving. It's one of those places that has the front office at the 'front', but the actual rooms are at the back of the complex.

The exterior of Faith's apartment is actually the SUN cinema. Faith lives above the movie house, which is cool. Faith identifies with many movie characters, mainly angsty ones. She felt she was in a 'kitchen sink drama' before. Alone, unloved, beaten and ignored. Now, she's 'above' it all. However, she's even more isolated. Hence her always looking out over the town.

Motel Room

This is the motel room Faith lived in during most of Season 3. It was a very dingy, cheap and crappy place, and although this was noted by most other characters, including Buffy and Joyce, no one offered her a better place to stay. At least, until The Mayor came along.

FYI, Faith's room number is 3.

Faith's room is an honest nightmare and can only add to her feeling of worthlessness. It hasn't been painted in a million years and its current colors (for want of a better word) can only be described as drab. The room is worn and weary and the paint is scuffed, peeling and chipped. All this reflects Faith's emotional state. It could be said that Faith is as worn as her room.

Despite living in the room so long, Faith's only attempt at decoration came at Christmas with the lights. It was great to see she had the heart to do even that much. Overall though, Faith's either not bothered with decorating at all, or...she's living 'Spartan'. Faith lives for slaying and Mrs. Post's words really did affect her, greatly. So, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that she is identifying with the Spartans.

There's at least two different televisons from Amends to Bad Girls. (Faith, Hope, And Trick is meant to be a different room and yes, that is a third, different TV) Also, as much as you'd like to believe the TV is black and white, it's actually not. Faith watches 'Film Noir', which is basically films from the 1940's They're all heavy on angst and are perfect for the character. Faith's TV's actually, is from the 80's. The dead give-away are the soft push buttons. Especially on the TV in The Zeppo.

Faith has two different radios also. A transisitor type, also from the 80's, and a large boombox type, that could very well be her own.

Like most teenagers, Faith is messy. Her clothes are often strewn about the place and comics and magazines are everywhere, too.

However, Faith is far messier once she hooks up with the Mayor. Pizza boxes can be seen on the floor, alongside clothes. Faith's motel apartment was never that bad.

The Apartment

A gift from the Mayor, Faith kept this apartment a secret from the Scooby Gang until Graduation Day 1, when Willow found out the address for Buffy.

The Bed Messy Corner The Living Area More Living Area The Entrance The Big Window Second Living Area More Seating The Dining Area

The areas with the lighter-colored furniture, like the second seating area, indicates furniture that is present in some episodes, and gone in others. Areas like the bathroom and kitchen, are areas that we've never actually seen on screen, they are purely based on speculation. It simply makes sense that the kitchen is near the dining area and the bathroom is near Faith's bed.

As previously noted, Faith has gone uber-messy in her new apartment. She's let go of the 'Spartan' notion and has seemed to grasp the 'spoiled kid of rich daddy' notion. Which is cute, in a way. It allows the Mayor to clean up after her. Unconsciously, Faith most likely loves the fact that he does, actually, pick up after her. It's probably the most parental thing that anyone's ever done for her.

The main reason for the view of the town is to highlight the fact that despite having everything Faith wants in a material sense, Faith still doesn't have her true heart's desire. That being family and friends (excluding the Mayor, obviously).

Faith's TV and PlayStation are right across from her bed-under the picture of the 'rope/snake' thing.

The view from Faith's apartment consists of the 'SUN' cinema sign and an overview of the town. The tall tower to the left would most likely be a water tower.
