Synopsis
A bunch of high school misfits in Hawaii, introduced by their new teacher, attend a science fair in which they draw up inspiration to build their own solar car and win a trip to compete in the 1990 World Solar Challenge in Australia.
Review
'Race The Sun' is a fictionalized account of a group of Hawaiian teenagers who develop a solar-powered car and compete in a cross-country race in Australia. Eliza had a ball in Australia. She still rates it as one of her favorite places.
It is a heartwarming family flick that saw Eliza's 'Cindy Johnson' reforming her immoral behaviors in time to be a worthy contributor to the team. The film was probably almost unheard of -as it only had a limited release. However, that said, it's a lovely film and, once again, Eliza holds her own with the wonderful Halle Berry, James Belushi and Casey Affleck.
As an aside, we figure that James Belushi and Eliza talked about Albania, as in a later interview Eliza mentions that she thinks she and 'the Belushi's are the only actors I know of with an Albanian background'.
