Synopsis

College freshman Cassandra "Cassie" (Melissa Sagemiller) steps into a nightmare of otherworldly visitations after surviving a devastating car accident. Haunted by a grim reaper of a far different kind, her only hope is to cling to chance encounters with her lost love Sean (Casey Affleck) and the aid of a mysterious young priest named Father Jude (Luke Wilson). It is the spirit of Sean, her soul mate, who guides her to love, but it is her friends Matt (Wes Bentley), Annabel (Eliza Dushku) and Annabel's morose 'new' friend Raven (Angela Featherstone) who try to draw her to the dark side.

Review

We were looking forward to this. And yes, the PG version is very disappointing. Obviously, the film suffered at the hands of the editors. The storyline got mixed up and it left many people confused. It seems that the most interesting scenes were cut.

The Killer Cut, to our disappointment, was not a lot better and it's a shame! I still say this film could've been totally kick-ass. The story really does have great potential, the idea behind it is very good, the atmosphere is threating...but somehow, the result isn't what it could have been. Too bad, because with the right editing and marketing, this could have been really good. Oh well. These things happen (sadly).
