- The ULTIMATE BUFFY Episode Countdown
Getting ever so close to the end -- you know you'll miss it when it's gone. There's 8 today! Yippie.
Giles finds out that a prophecy has been written that says The Master will kill The Slayer. Obviously
Buffy doesn't take this so well. The prophecy was actually right when you consider he did kill her. It
just didn't take into account CPR. I imagine CPR wasn't around back then. So Buffy kills The Master after
he killed her. I've said 'kill' a lot. Anyone who saw this episode got hooked on the show for good.
I like this one a lot, but I believe it's the most overrated episode in the history of the show. We get a lot
of great backstory on William The Bloody. We also get the 'you're beneath me' stuff, and the Buffy learning
from Spike's stories stuff, and stuff in general. Plus a shotgun...and those are always fun. It just isn't
top 5, people. If you look at it objectively, it's not top 5. Top 20...sure. That's why it's here.
All the parents in Sunnydale become teenagers. As per the norm, Ethan Rayne is involved in this chaos. Giles
and Joyce have sex on the hood of a police car, which is traumatizing just to type, let alone think about. If
you didn't laugh at something in this one, you are dead inside.
The Season 3 two-part finale has our gang graduating from Sunnydale High. It also has a big snake, Willow and Oz
gettin' down, Angel being a selfish prick yet again, and Wesley getting knocked out in the first round. There's
a lot of stuff that happens in these two hours. If you think about the little things that get brought up over
the years due to these two episodes, it's really cool. Larry is dead, Harmony is undead, Snyder gets eaten,
Faith is in a coma, Xander is key guy, Angel leaves town....there was a lot of impact throughout.
Cordelia makes a wish to a venegence demon named Anyanka. We'll come to know Anyanka as 'the girl who fills
into Cordy's spot once she leaves town' by next season. But for now, Cordy makes the wish that Buffy never
came to Sunnydale, and everything goes to hell. The Master is still alive, Xander and Willow are vampires,
everyone wears brown and black, and apparently Angel is a puppy. I always thought he looked like the type
to pee on rugs.
The penultimate episode of the series. I love everything about this episode with the lone exception of
the 'guardian' convienient plot addition. Everything else is stellar. The scene at the beginning where
Buffy pulls the scythe out of the stone. The look on Caleb's face is priceless. The stuff with Buffy and
Xander, the stuff with Andrew and Anya, the D&D game going on....it's pretty much what you want out of
the next-to-last episode. Anya looooooves humans.
The finale of Season 6 makes the disappointment throughout most of the season seem relevant and easier to
take. Willow has gone all veiny and hopped up on magicks, so the gang has to try and stop her before she
goes completely evil. Giles comes back to town with the COOLEST ENTRANCE EVER. Xander saves the world
by talking about yellow crayons. You got'sta love this.
Anya was Aud. Anya IS Aud. This one just proves that. We get Anya's backstory (finally -- only took 3 years),
back to when she became a vengence demon. So it turns out Anya had some frat boys killed, so Buffy, who
likes to kill things, decides it is Anya's turn to get it. Xander makes some valid, VALID points about
how Buffy likes to kill things she isn't humping, then she uses the Angel excuse, which is actually complete
crap. But I digress -- there's the great "I'm The Mrs." song, and a cool fight scene between Buffy and Anya. Then
Anya tells D'Hoffren to change it back, and he ends up killing Halfrek because of it. I'd say Anya kinda screwed
things up a bit that week.
Gorram Reaver: How could anyone hate Band Candy. 'Summers...you drive like a SPAZ!' OMG Band candy should not: be there it sux donkey shit! Spike_and_Angel: Anya episodes rock! And of course Spike episode do too! Atalanta: I'd put Fool for Love lower.. and Band Candy even lower. And Two to go / Grave. All good eps, sure, but not top 20. Selfless should probably be in the top 10. I agree with the rest though. Brodie_182: Prophecy girl and graduation day and end of days are cool there, but two to go/grave, come on. that episode sux!i dont mind the wish and fool for love there, i might have put them a bit lower, but band candy should be like, #50! haha oh well could you put the top ten in one whole list cos it adds more feeling seeing the epies numbered down right to selfless as the last episode written there, so yeah can you do the final ten all together? and the body better be number one!!!! Brodie_182: no! selfless was really cool! Lurker: Band Candy is one of my least episodes...so too hogh! Matt: Re: D&D in Chosen -- whoops. Even the Poobah can get mixed up from time to time. No one is perfect. ;) mike: The D&D game was in CHOSEN, buddy. Lucky: ok i kinda agree but Band candy should have been like #12 and two to go/grave should be top 10 nver really cared for The Wish
