In Life Serial, when the nerds are watching Buffy’s retail career stall before its even begun, they can hardly contain their excitement. WARREN: This mummy hand has ceased to be! This is a reference to the classic Monty Python ‘dead parrot’ skit in which a pet shop owner and his customer argue over the status of a recently purchased, and quite clearly deceased, parrot. The Monty Python team produced such a landmark, and widely referenced, series of shows and films that their silly style has been infused into the English language (hence the word pythonesque). Is this the only Python reference in the Buffyverse canon? |

I could never figure out exactly what they were saying but it made me laugh really hard each time anyway. Not sure why. Maybe their random enthusiasm or whatever. And I love the nerds before they got really evil.

thats great! i felt sure that it wasn’t the only python reference… but couldn’t recall.
!!of course: dawn’s deadpan ‘nobody expects the spanish inquisition’ gag was hilarious!
