  25. Buffy’s deaths (by Esual)

Xander says in the last series of Buffy that Buffy has died twice. This may be true, but lets look at this a different way:

    1) Nightmares. Giles stands over Buffy’s grave.

    2) Prophecy Girl. Buffy gets killed by the master.

    3) The Wish. Buffy gets her neck broken by the master.

    4) The Gift. Buffy throws herself off a tower created by crazy people.

    5) Normal Again. At the end of the episode when it looks at the world that might have been, the doctor says that “we’ve lost her” indicating she had died.

    6) Villains. Buffy gets shot and for a brief moment she flatlines (this one is a bit of a stretch, but I thought I’d put it in there)

So over all the audience has seen Buffy die a total of 5 (maybe 6) times.

The ‘Veronica Mars’ fansite marsinvestigations.net has profiles on all of the characters on the show, including Kendall Shifflet Casablancas, who is played by Charisma Carpenter (who played Cordelia Chase). The first paragraph of her profile is:

“A shallow, bitchy cheerleader until she devoted her life to helping the helpless and seducing teenage boys on the side — wait, what? What do you mean, “wrong show”? It all looks right to me, except for — okay. I see. Gotcha.”

That is a reference to her Buffy/Angel character who went from a “shallow, bitchy cheerleader” to a person who “devoted her life to helping the helpless.” The last part is kinda self-explanatory.

Mars Investigations is a great site for ‘Veronica Mars’ fans. It’s clever and witty and thorough, much like our ole Trivia Guide.

  31. To scar or not to scar? (by Esual)

In Fool For Love, we see how William turned into Spike. When he is fighting his first Slayer, he gets a scar on his left eye. Fine. Oh no, wait a minute not fine! Vampires shouldnt scar. If they do scar then Angel, Spike and probably Buffy would have their faces and body full of them from the ammount of times they have been slashed open. Especially Angel after the episode In the Dark where he waa tortured. But if we were going down that road, Spike got stabbed by Riley in Into the Woods” and the list goes on and on. In conclusion, one small cut should not be able to scar a vampire, when being stabbed does nothing.

I know that the scar is James Marsters’ originally and they had to give a reason for it being there, but you could have had him get it when he was a human which would have been more believable.

In the episode Sleeper Aimme Mann sings her song “Pavlov’s Bell”. The title of this song references Pavlov’s experiment with dogs, where he would ring a bell before giving them food. 54. Time Zone (by Abby M.)

This really isn’t a goof (I guess), just more of a thing that I don’t buy and that bugs me.

In The Dark Age, Giles wants Buffy to meet him outside the hospital at “8:30 sharp.” That night, Buffy has enough time to wait around for him, attempt to call him, fight the bad guys, talk with Angel, and run/walk to Giles’. When she gets there, they talk for minute and then he pushes her away. He then calls Deidre and says, “I realize it is 5 in morning there.” If it was 5:00AM in London, it would be 9:00PM in Sunnydale (southern California).

So all the time between Buffy getting to the hospital and Giles making the phone call was all in half in hour? It isn’t impossible, just improbable (Of course, I am assuming Deidre was still London which isn’t too farfetched).

I swear there’s a visual reference to the movie Grease in the episode Flooded.
Towards the end of the episode, when Buffy steps out onto her back porch a lit cigarette butt lands at her feet, and she immediately knows who flicked it. Buffy extinguishes it with her (stylish yet affordable) shoe, in a manner very similar to Olivia Newton John at the start of the number “You’re the one that I want”.
Or maybe it’s just the flu delirium talkin’.

  59. Same name….almost (by Mel)

In As You Were, Anya says to Xander:

“Well, the Gnarals are teleporting in in twenty minutes”

This is very similar and pronounced the same as Gnarl from season 7’s Same Time Same Place.

  60. Watching (by Abby M.)

In Surprise, Uncle Enyos says to Jenny, “The time for watching has past!” It can be seen as a parallel for Jenny and Giles because Giles is a watcher.

  61. Vamp Face (by Mel)

In Doomed when Buffy and the gang are fighting the demons at the High School, in the scene where Xander is against the wall fighting the demon (35:40), if you look behind him at Spike, you can see he is in vamp face but when we next see him he has his normal face on and doesn’t vamp out until he realises he can hurt demons.

  63. Not in position (by Mel)

At the end of Never Leave Me when we see Spike being held over the seal, his positioning is not quite right.

When we see the camera angles from behind Spike, his position is not directly over the seal. From this position it looks to me as if it’s just his head and shoulders that are over the seal.

  64. Clueless Extra (by Crypto)

At 09:07 minutes into the episode The Wish in Season three. You see an extra in the background pictured between Anya and Cordelia. She obviously does not know she is in shot as she hesitates before deciding to walk.

  65. Summers’ Residence Floorplan (by ripper)

Can anyone draw up a detailed floorplan for the Summers’ house? Upstairs & down. (Based, of course on what we see of the house). I can’t quite picutre how it’s laid out in my head. That would be really cool to have available here.

  66. Driver Safety (by ormaybemidgets)

In The Witch, seen at 19:34.

Cordy puts on her seatbelt as soon as she gets in the car. When the teacher tells everyone to get out, she never undoes she seatbelt (and there isn’t time for her to do it offscreen), but next we see it’s undone.

  67. Spike’s New Chip (by Matt)

In “The Initiative” (4-07), when Spike is in Willow’s room and the Initiative burst in and the big fight ensues, Spike is clearly fighting them off. The most blaintant part of the goof is when Spike uses the fire extinguisher to hit one of them in the head, and his chip didn’t go off.
