The song ‘Die, Die My Darling’ by the Misfits is playing in the demon bar which Warren celebrates in, in the episode Villains.

In Villains, Clem says, “I was just about to make some Country Time”, referring to the American lemonade product.

Clem tells Dawn in Villains that he’s been “dying to see The Wedding Planner”. The 2001 feel-good movie (if you like feeling slightly nauseous) starred Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey. It was directed by Adam Shankman, who did the choreography for the Buffy musical episode Once More, With Feeling.

The scene where Warren is skinned alive by Willow was edited out when shown in most places. Marti Noxon said of the scene, “The skinning of Warren was something Joss wanted. We pitched it to the network, and the network said, ‘As long as you only see it for 2.5 …

At the end of the episode Seeing Red, Spike said, “…I’ll be back, and when I do…” His incorrect grammar was corrected in the “Previously on Buffy the Vampire Slayer” section in Villains.

When Willow drains Rack of his power in Two To Go, she says, “I just wanna take a little tour”. He said the same thing to her in Wrecked, before filling her with magics.

Willow’s final words of the episode Villains were “one down” so the next episode’s title (Two To Go) is a continuation of that: “One down… two to go.”

Bill Norton directed the episode Two To Go. He has also directed several episodes of Angel, as well as episodes of John Doe, Hack, The Fugitive, Roswell, Them and The Invisible Man.

In Two to Go, Spike says, “Here we are now, entertain us”. This is a line from the Nirvana song ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’.

In Two to Go, Buffy says to Willow, “I don’t want to hurt you”, followed by, “That doesn’t mean I won’t”. This is exactly what Spike said to Drusilla in Becoming (Part 2).

Like the season six opening two-parter Bargaining (Part 2), the episode Grave did not have any opening credits since it followed directly after Two to Go. The teaser for Two to Go was therefore extra long. Xander announces at the start, “This is what happened this year…”

Brett Wagner, who played the truck driver who picks up Jonathan and Andrew in Grave, appeared in Angel as Nadrah Prince in ‘Provider‘ and as a Bong’dar demon in ‘Salvage‘.

There have been a number of episodes with two of the same character in one shot. Willow met her vampire self in Doppelgängland, Xander had a double in The Replacement, we see two Spikes in Sleeper and the First takes on Buffy’s form in numerous episodes, including Chosen.

In Sleeper, Xander says, “OK, let’s look at this objectively. Figure it out in a cold, impersonal, CSI-like manner ‘cause we’re a couple of carpet fibres away from a case.” He’s referring to the CBS TV show CSI or Crime Scene Investigation, which is based on forensic investigation.

Aimee Mann performs two songs from her 2002 album ‘Lost in Space’ in the Bronze in the episode Sleeper: ‘This Is How It Goes’, and ‘Pavlov’s Bell’ (as Spike and the female vampire fight). Aimee also has a line in the show, “Man, I hate playing vampire towns”. No other …
