When all the children are first turned into monsters you see one of the children from the back and he’s wearing a green mask - it’s definitely a child not a monster. Yet one second later when you see him from the front he’s a proper monster. |

I don’t believe this is a goof. This was the whole point of Ethan’s spell. He turned everyone into what their costumes were. Therefore, the children who were dressed as monsters turned into monsters. That’s why Willow stopped Xander from shooting at any of them; because you couldn’t tell the difference between the children and the real monsters.

My comment isn’t about a goof: I’m wondering if the actress who plays the old woman in this scene handing out Halloween treats to the kids is the same woman who plays Maude Pearson, the ghost in the *Angel* episode titled “Room w/a Vu.” That actress is Beth Grant, and I don’t see the Buffy episode listed on her IMDB page, so maybe it wasn’t her. But perhaps she wouldn’t list an uncredited role? I don’t know where to find the name of the actress in this Buffy episode–is she uncredited?

Yep, Lilwenn, that’s what I was thinking: everyone turned at the same time but that kid was a child from behind and a monster from the front.
