[7.22-38.00] Where’s the sea?

Goof seen in: Chosen at 38.00

When Sunnydale disappears into the crater, we cannot see the sea. Sunnydale has been shown to be on the coast in past episodes (i.e. Surprise, Go Fish, Buffy vs Dracula) and it’s nowhere to be seen.

      I was making a buffy icon of Chosen and I noticed something that could be water in the background. Do you think that’s water right there?

      That could be the lake of Sunnydale park (seen during Once more, with feeling when Tara sings, in Help when Willow and Xander have their hammer-talk, and perhaps a few more times), couldn’t it?

      No way could it be the lake unless the lake is as big as an ocean! In Go Fish you see the students swim out to sea. Thats what is being implied there.

      and whan the judge is being assmbled, Angel gives Buffy the Claddah ring down by the docks, That is definantly sea as Angel is about to ’set sail’ as it were

      Is it possble that the docks, and beach aren’t in Sunnydale? I mean, the boys in Go Fish could have been released into any part of the Californian coast. Also, in Buffy vs. Dracula, they could have been in a beach out of town. Maybe the beach is in a town closer to the coastline?

      But if that’s true, Abby, than they must really enjoy walking a great distance to get to those docks, since neither Buffy, Angel nor Faith drive…

      When Buffy and Angel go to the docks in Surprise Jenny drove them there.

      In the Bronze at Buffy’s party when Angel says that he will have to sail to get rid of the arm Jenny says “I’ll drive you to the docks”.

      Yeah and in Go Fish, you are never led to believe they walked to the beach. They probably rode with Cordelia.
